Well I knew the guy would want to tangle...I pulled up next to him at the light...I knew he wouldlook over at my car and want to go...but I wasn't sure...Porsche drivers are fickle...
I lulled him into false security by using what I call the 'indifferent maneuver'. I acted as if I didn't want to race...I dogged it in 2nd, and when I sw him back off I lit it up....he never knew what hit him...classic!
Let's hope my new Z brings me as much joy as my M.

Well like I said...I kind of cheated...but I still won...heh heh
There is no way I could beat a new porsche TURBO from off the line...their 0-60 is like 3.9 or something...mine is 4.7.
Now a carrera or boxster s, that's a more even fight, but I still think I can take them.
I will miss my M, that is for sure.

I am heading back to school this fall...so I need to shed some excess financial baggage. I can get close to what I paid for the M, so I should be okay. Plus my insurance will be lower as well.
Don't get me wrong, I love my M, I really believe that, pound for pound, dollar for dollar, it is the finest sports car on the planet.
But I am totally pumped about the Z. If I had known just a bit more about it, I would have waited and not got the M. You can't beat the price, and I really dig the styling.

Ex,
Funny story. But I just want to clarify something. Where I come from, the 'indifferent maneuver' is also know as "the Ricer Fly-By", named in honour of those brats with fart-can exhausts who
1) After you show no interest in a race, they "fly-by" you, exhaust blaring, and middle finger extended, whooping and hollering as if they had just won the Indy 500.
2) After you humiliate them in a race in which you were a participant, after you let off the gas, they come racing by, exhaust blaring (this can sometimes take several blocks before they catch you, so beware).
Just thought I'd clarify, since this may be a common occurance in your new Z car.

hey exsilio...whats up?
i have a ? for ya..
i was gonna lease a 02 M3, but it was a little too much out of my range..they wanted $1053/mth for a 3 yr lease and 15,000 miles/yr.
i was wondering if you can tell me how much you are paying for yours a month? if you would like to keep that confidential, you can e mail me.
and are you gonna be ok going from an M3 TO a Z? lol..i mean, the Z is sweet, but an M3 is like DAMN!! that is the ULTIMATE sports car $ for $, i am sure the Z will be too, but u r lucky to be driving an M3

The Porsche 911 Turbo
I have raced the Porsche Turbo with my NSX and he BLEW me away. My older brother has the 2002 Porchse Turbo and I think it is a damn good car. We switched cars and I raced my NSX against the 911 Turbo and it makes the NSX feel like a Honda. Well, it is a Honda but you know what i mean. The Porsche 911 Turbo strikes fear into me everytime i see it in my rearview mirror.

yes, the 911 turbo is not to be messed with...I knew my only hope was to trick the guyinto thinking I didn't want to go for it...my M is good...but I can't take on a car like a porsche turbo that weighs less and has 120+ more ponies...not gonna happen but I had fun nevertheless.
And silverstone_350z, your figures are right inline with my current details. It's not cheap. I usually put more down, but now I like to keep that money more accessible and live with the higher monthly payments...the one thing that shocked was the insurance cost...I almost swallowed my tongue
I say if you are young, and sweating the high payment of the M, go with the Z and never look back. The Z has a rich heritage like the M, and with excellent performance to boot. Don't get me wrong, when I drop the hammer on my M, I leave my ********* somewhere in the dust and my spine is firmly imbedded into the soft, creamy leather of my seat....I love it. But I think I am really going to love the Z as well.
