370Z Owners = No Respect for the Predecessor?
I was extremely bored so I thought I would go in and check out the 370z forum for the first time just for the hell of it. Right on the first page of the General Discussions page is a thread describing a 350Z owner being rude to a fellow 370Z owner.
Its filled with more smack about the car itself (350Z) than the owner that was described in the thread which just amazed me. Never knew that a car so similar and coming from the same tradition could stir up so much hate towards its predecessor.

In 15-20 years the 350z will be god again...and a few years after that the 370z will be.
Didn't the 280z guys hate on the 300zx guys?? I bet it happens to the domestics too.

The thread is about a douchebag 350z owner giving attitude to a 370z owner when he gave the guy a compliment.
Here is the actual post:
Here is the actual post:
Every now and then I get a little compliment for my Z or have a chat with other car enthusiast about the car's inner workings and specs.
I also always wave to or say hello to other Z owners, and I have had great positive responses from them... until yesterday.
I drove to a nearby town and parked the car across the road from a coffee shop. When I crossed the road I saw a 350z parked in front of the shop. The car was in great shape, clean, well maintained so I figured the owner must be a Z lover too. As I was getting closer I saw the owner and his girlfriend (I think) come out of the shop and I just said:
"Hello! Love your car, how long have you had it? It is in great shape!"
He then said, (and I am trying to quote him as well as I remember):
"yeah, thats because I don't waste time bothering other people about their car, if you did the same maybe then you can afford one"
Needless to say, I was shocked, I nearly fell over. I didn't know what to say, so I just took out my keys, locked the car again which made a little horn sounds, he saw my car and then I went into the coffee shop.

How many Z31 or Z32 (300ZX) driver's do you give a thumbs up to on the street? When I used to DD my Z32TT before I had a Z33, I would wave or give a thumbs up to every 350 I saw. Most would think I wanted to race (bad idea!) and would ignore me or look at me like I had 10 heads. The "heritage" of the Z community stopped when 300ZXs got cheap enough for teens that didn't know the history could buy them /end rant.

Not only was there no 350z hating in that thread, there was no car hating at all. Lots of hating on a-hole owners, but none about any particular car.
So wth is your problem? You can't read? High from sipping some of that purple stuff? Or are you that douche bag from that coffee shop that started all this nonsense?
In any event who gives a crap...
