The one on my boat is the worse I have seen. I swear that ****** thing is 3' long.

I agree for the most part. The first ten times I had to check the oil it was really bad. Then after 10 oil changes I've gotten it down. The trick I use is first of all know which angle the dip stick should go to. it should be pointing to the left. second I hold the stick with two hands. Left hand on the puller and the right one in between a paper towel. I position the stick with my right hand and push with the left. All you really have to do is hit the little funnel thing and slide it in. As long as the bend is going to the left, then you shouldn't have any problems.
