Default False Dual Exhaust

Someone on this forum (sorry cannot find the post) stated that the Z comes with a false dual exhaust. Is this true?

You would think that with a V engine, a lot could be gained from a true twin exhaust. Any thoughts on the subject?

i believe it's a two into one into two. A header from each bank goes into one catalytic(sp) converter then breaks away into two seperate pipes. Skiddazle should know more about this.

Thanks for the info, Dvlad!

As CATs are heavy, this probably isn't all bad. Perhaps an opportunity for the future though. Like when I race my Z

I know that it is just a model, but I looked at my tamiya last night and it is one pipe into the muffler and the mufler has 2 tips out. I do not know how accurate the bottom of the model is, but its the closest thing we have I guess.

well, the more catalytic converters is good and bad.

Good because it helps reduce the amount of emissons.

Bad because it creates more backpressure which equals less power.

the C5 corvette also uses one muffler for two exhaust pipes. It's just over sized.

lets hope Nissan does this and doesn't cheat us with one muffler and two tips
