If this is true, I would buy back the car and part it out. Then donate the car to get it out of your way.

I wouldn't attempt repair myself. It'll probably be more headache than it's worth vs putting the money toward another car.

When you remove the rear cover/foam/reinforcer you would see the rear panel damage.
It looks repairable.
The hatch looks ok... I am not a body shop but based on my 350Z experience this can be done for less than 2k.

Too bad as I just threw away the rear section that shows damage.

omg bro! i didn't know the collision was that bad! i just saw your car a days ago too. so much for the work done on your exhaust. At least the person who hit you agreed to reimburse and wasn't a b*tch. Hopefully it comes out better than before. Oh and definitely get the help of a bodyshop with this one. This is damage is pretty severe. Not doubting your skills but you might need another hand or the proper tools to repair this right. Hit me up if anything dude

when you get your check shop around at the different body shops, around here damage like that could be fixed for around $4k

You may want to take a look at this thread too as a comparison. Even though the bumper doesn't look too bad, depends on what damaged underneath:

Sorry to have this happen to you, I would just take a check from the insurance company for the total and buy something else.

Hmmm. If it were me I would want to keep the Z and try to fix it, but yea, step one would be to check under that bumper to see what your dealing with.

Default Rear Ended! NOOO!

Hey man sorry for your loss.. If you case is pending I wouldn't disclose anything other than the facts on the car's condition.

from previous experience the insurance company doesn't add value to any aftermarket parts on your car unless it was upraised beforehand. You can take em off and retain them. Why give up your speakers and other goodies?

In California you have the right to fix the car anywhere you like, you can get multiple repair estimates from different shops to get a ballpark idea, the insurance companies will also make their own estimate and you can usually work out a price, they can also offer to pay you for the car and let you buy it back at a reduced price but it will have a salvaged title, at that point you can get it back up to running configuration or sell it for parts.

My car was also rear ended recently, the case is pending so I can't post pictures but I would like to know from you other "Non Damaged 350Z" guys if the foam behind the rear bumper is snug or does it move around?

If you go under your car, you can see the white foam behind the rear bumper. I just need to know if it's snug or does it have any type of play.

Quick intro on me... don't let my post count fool you and have you claim noobage. My first post was a DIY on Kinetex upper camber arms because no one had covered it before. I made some major improvements to them that I think would help those using them.
Didn't mean to threadjack..

I would take all of the plastic out of the trunk and take a look at the floor. If it is at all crinkled (what the car is designed to do) it is not worth trying to fix. Remember, once the car is repaired, the value of the car drops significantly and with over 100k miles, it might be time to retire her and go with an HR. I would look into it.

Good luck OP.
