Default Problem with rear-view mirror?

Test drove a Z and couldn't see out the back through the rear-view mirror no matter how I adjusted it. I'm 6'3", but I should still be able to see out the back...? Just wondering if anyone else has this problem.

Was the mirror blacked out? Or did someone put tape over the mirror or something?

Heck if I know. I'm 6' 2" and never had a problem adjusting the mirror to see out the back. You won't see an awful lot, though. If you're expecting a 180 degree panoramic view and visibility to the horizon thru the rearview mirror, you won't get it with this car.

when i first got the z, i couldn't see what's behind me without ducking my head, and i'm shorter than you.
it's not obvious when you're sitting in the car, but you can move the mirror downward. the arm the mirror is connected to is actually coming directly out from the windshield, not from the roof. next time you're in a z, grab the mirror firmly and pull it downwards (it doesn't look like it can move, but it will). now you should be able to adjust it to a much better viewing angle. it's never gonna be great, but at least you'll see what's behind you.

Hmmm, okay. Would have been nice if the dealership guy would have known that one I yanked on it pretty hard, but didn't want to break it or anything!

First...move away your forehead from the windshield.

Try looking out the back after lowering the car, if the car behind you is within 100 feet all you see is the grill!!
