Angry Dealership Destroyed My Bumper!!!

i took my car to the nissan dealership for an oil change today. the tech finished my service and drove my car off the lift to deliver it to me. as he was pulling out another car backs into him and cracks my bumper!

the dealership said they would take car of everything and order me a new bumper and paint it. they gave me a loaner nissan cube until my car is done. i'm not really upset about it since my bumper needed to be repainted anyway. hopefully they'll do a good job but i trust their work.

9/22/10

Fixed!!!

Maybe they will match the colour better ; good on them to make it easy on you and just accept it and offer the repair.

Other than the inconvenience it sounds like a win.

Do they order you the same after market bumper?

lol

that does seem to suck in a way, but just think of it as the luck of the draw. Cause now you get a new repainted bumper FREE!

Just hope they do not bondo the crap out of it and repaint the same one you have. Cause then you would be somewhat....

Yeah, make sure you ask for the old one back or see proof of it. Open an email dialogue with the service manager and state the terms so you have it written down. Cannot hurt.

dude it already seems like they are "gonna take care of it" ya sure, with their cheapest vendor and body shop dude.......dude you need to take charge of this situation........

maybe im wrong, but them paying top notch to get this fixed.......I doubt.......

Im not up to par with what bumper that is, etc, but I would ensure its ordered exactly where you got yours and not some cheap replica, etc.....things of that nature..

see, I speak from experience as the same thing happened to me, except after they brought the car down from the lift, the guy forgot to move one of the legs of the lift and while reversing and cutting out the corner of my bumper caught the lift arm and ripped my bumper pretty similar to your damage...

Ensure that all is fixed under as well, they didnt replace my wheel well liner that was torn, didnt replace this, that, etc.....so if i were you i would make sure your present and inspect everything super well prior to taking the keys or signing anything when its done!

They took my car to a hack job body shop and actually painted the entire bumper white, even the center grill and thought i would be happy...........MORONS....

was such a pain, but once i got involved and took charge of the situation i made sure it was taken care of right...

Change your own oil dude. The more you can limit trips to the dealership or have someone else work on your car the better. I dry-heave when I have to go to the dealer.

my car is too low for me to get underneath it or i would change it myself. plus i like the fact that they give me a visual inspection and top off all my fluids.

I'm no master mechanic, but I trust that I will take my time, think about what I'm doing, and most importantly BE CAREFUL with my own car. I doubt that service techs will treat my car the same, even if they are possibly more skilled and knowledgeable than me.

It sounds like a conspiracy, but really...the more opportunities you give them to screw up your car, the more they will screw up your car.

i change my own oil for all my other cars except for my z. my z is too low and i dont want to buy all new ramps/jacks/stands in order to do so myself. i would rather pay nissan $14 to do it for me.

Wow man that sucks, I'd raise hell and make them fix it right. I'm going through the same thing right now, I had a guy back into my 350Z, tear it along the fender line, and crack my lower marker. The MP's are going to reimburse me for the damages
