converted to AWD Z!!!
so i've decided to convert the Z into an AWD, cost me about $30G(it's like buying an EVO8 or STI). it'll be in the shop for about 1-2 months. i wanted them to order the stuffs from Japan. the conversion uses the SKyline's AWD system since it's nearly compatible, just some minor changes/additions. according to the guy anyway... underbody would have to be slightly modified as well. he said that it'll be a little bit heavier now than before, but, with a 250-260 something horsepower at the wheels(rear for now!), 300-500 lbs(dont know the exact weight until we get the parts in) wouldnt make a different when it's an AWD. once i got the Stillen Supercharger in, i should have a hel! lot more HP and it's an AWD Z. and ill be the only one in town that have an AWD. kind of cool isnt it?!!??! im hoping to pull at least in 11 sec 1/4 mile run. the project havent started yet, not till probably next month and will be done around.... february '04 or sooner.

Is htat the same AWD system formt he G45 sedan? I would think that'd be the easiest way to go, especially since hte parts (in theory) will be available here. Hell, for ~$30K you could just buy a AWD G35, I'll help you put the parts in, and you give me what's left over of the G35.

...30grand to have higher drivetrain loss and more weight.
if indy, nascar, and most factions of lemans dont need AWD, neither do I.
of course if your a mag racer that love quarter mile stats, its perfect.
60k, your right at just getting a R34skylineGTR.
but alas, I dont really beleive you anyway, unless your parents are fitting that 30k bill.

The AWD system that's in the new 04 G35 Sedans isn't performance orientated. It's simply for more traction for wet and slippery conditions.

Hmm...i wouldn't know about it being the same as R34, if is correct me.
I did receive an e-mail from Infiniti advertising the AWD system on the G35. It is not intended to be a performance option and is not marketed as one either (or so thats what the advertisment reads).
As Yielar states "It's simply for more traction for wet and slippery conditions".

It's the same AWD system as in R34, are you saying it's different?
better check your sources again!
and to the kid that wants to go with the GTR drive train.
Why don't you put that stillen supercharger on first and show us that your running 11's (with the lighter set up)
then add 500-600 lbs with the GTR drivetrain and still prove it!
keep dreaming,
