^^ Right! I could afford $10k a month car payments if I still lived at home...maybe more.

Frankly, I wouldn’t be driving a Z and on this forum. I’d have a Porsche 911 Carrera 4 ... and listening to whining teens on a 911 forum.
^This!

Well said BTW.

Holy **** dude. Paying $300/mo for insurance is a terrible idea, but paying more to insure a car than to own it is even worse.

Seems he has not researched this thread well enough to get the point of it. And agree on the insurance - for that kind of money, he must have a pretty sketchy driving record.

actually, I have a very clean driving record. Not a single violation or wreck. I am a 21 year old single male. And its full coverage. Thats the price I got to pay to drive a nice car.

And also I don't live with my parents. I'm living in my own apartment, paying my own bills.

I'd say that's pretty good for a 21 year old.

That price is ridiculously stupid high, and you should be embarrassed about it. Again, you're paying more to cover your car than you're paying to own it.

and yes I drove a car with a higher rate than the Z when I was 21.

So, you have a Z, a hot rod, and a bike? Or did you sell the Hot Rod to fund the Z?

P.S., you have some sweet fabrication skills.

Nice find, I may be wrong, but that doesn't look like an apartment. Do you work for your parents? Just curious.

haha well, I built the hot rod. Traded it for the bike. Sold my truck for 4500 bucks to put down on the car. So I have the bike still and the z.

And I had my hot rod at my parents house because My dad has tools. And a covered area to build the car. I don't yet. And the bike stays there to be in the garage.

P.S.
Why make it such a big deal for young people to own a Z. Who says young people can't enjoy the same cars that old farts enjoy. I have to have gray hair and tuck my shirt in to drive a z? This is supposed to be a forum for people who share the same interest in the same cars. Not for old people to tell young people you shouldn't drive this kind of car. If I can afford it, then why not? I'm a responsible driver who has never had a wreck or a ticket. I work to pay my own bills. Just like you.

EDIT >

Also, I landed a really good job between then and now.

It's not young kids that own Z's that this thread is about. It's the ones that think they're ballers and think everone's jealous of them while they live with their parents, or the ones that want to lie and say they're making $465,636/year running their korporashun. Or that develop a god complex over their car, when they're renting a 400sqft apartment with no food in the fridge.

I was 22 when I bought mine

We don't care what you drive or how old you are.

What we get tired of are kids here who are born on third base and go through life thinking they hit a triple.

I pretend mine is an 07 too. Look at my hood.

Besides, you didn't buy an almost 8 year old car and make it sound like you bought a Cayman.

It's an 04. No idea why i said 03 to begin with. But thats beside the point. A 350z is a 350z. They are all nice cars to me. Unless torn up by their owners. Mine has about 50k miles. It's still considered a nice new car to me. And I am very happy to own it and drive it. Worth paying a high insurance note for.

after driving nothing but peice of sh*t cars that break all the time, i would way rather drive a nice car that isn't going to break all the time and pay extra for it.
