Yeah im at school up at Clemson and live in Hilton Head so Columbia is on the way up. I got a lot of friends at school at USC and im there a good bit so i might hit you up when im in the area.

Are you going to Kevin's (imonlykidden) thing on the 23? Dont know when the last time you checked it but they got a go kart track rented out and everyone is crashing at their place. Also have Motordyne testing their new XYZ pipe at the dyno at Cin Motorsports.
It's on a weekend. My work "week" is Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11:30am till 11:30pm, so needless to say I can't do anything on weekends unless I use vacation time.

What are you in school for at Clemson? I'm interested in their Health Physics Program, do you know anything about it?

My major right now is mechanical engineering. Im hoping to get an internship with BMW probably next year cause they are pretty tight with Clemson.

Havnt heard of Health Physics but sounds pretty interesting. You're at USC now im guessing?

Yeah I have one more class to finish my Master's in nuclear engineering and working full time with Westinghouse nuclear. We have internships here too for M.E.'s so look us up if BMW doesn't work out.

I am now just ready to turn 19 and my list is

95 Berreta Z26 -worked all summer when i was 16 to pay for it for my junior year
01 Eclipse GT-worked all last year in school and summer and sold my berreta and was given $1500 from my father to help pay for it. Got a good deal on it paid in full.

I'm in the market for a Z now and have about $2000 saved up from being a waiter at a very busy resturaunt. Living at home going to a branch campus for the first 2 years. Plan on selling my eclipse and financing the rest (10k or so) on a Z for 4 years with my waiter job.

In no way did i pay for everything my self but i sure as hell worked my *** off and saved as much money as i could to pay for my eclipse completley and now i will be working for 4 years to pay it off. I don't believe that teens should get everything handed to them but parents helping a little isn't the end of the world.

Not trying to be a dick here but I think your expecting well... the impossible out of teenagers.
Not addressed to me, but I'll give you my option.

-learning how to function responsibly in an adult world
-1998 Ford Taurus
-Not moved out, if still in school. But should be working & paying their way as much as possible (ie. car insurance & maintenance, helping out with household chores, doing their own laundry, etc)

Giving things to teens is not being a responsible parent.

10,000 + 2,000 = 12,000. What kind of Eclipse is it to make up for all that financing? You have taxes, title, registration, etc. Hopefully, you have a GSX that is decked out and you can sell it privately. If not, you're going to get 1,000-1,500 if it's absolutely mint. That's about 13,000. Looks like you'll be financing a little more than you anticipated. Probably realistically around 14,000 which is around $300 a month.

+1

I'm 21 next month and I pay all by my self. No mommy and daddy sponsorships here.

A 5-year old car that looks better than half the brand new ones.

Acutally, giving a teen more than normal responsibilities allows and helps them to grow up. For example.. and, I'm not trying to brag.. I'm 21 and I OWN a 2002 dodge ram 1500. I pay for an 07 tC, and an 08 Z. That doesn't include my rent, power, water, gas and all other expenses. And, I think I owe most of that to my mom for the huge amounts of responsibilities she's held me up to. Never a new car, but.. it's close enough.

Okay, now that I've posted.. & don't know how to delete. I've felt that I've already given way too much information on this. Is it possible to delete this? Please help.

+1, but truth of the matter is that most 19Y/O F I know like men like this. But, "..to each - their own."
