I don't know how to say this delicately. I've never seen a generation so uncompetitive!? In school, no more failing grades. They don't want to hurt anyones feelings
. Is that it? No emotions. That nice/nice attitude will make us a loser country. "nice car bro" most are great looking cars, some aren't. 08 & earlier Nismos are ugly. What do you think of that? 0 to 100mph in 20 seconds is not, "oh wow". It's what an old lady does getting on the N.J.Turnpike. I went to Atco & Racewaypark, & not ONE 350z from N.J. PA/Philadelphia. A bunch of old men in their 60s & 70s racing their vettes & Cobras. Thousands for an exhaust for the sound
. Performance mods, for their looks. Maybe its just the area? In Florida & upstate N.Y. there are all types of tracks. Every small town gas station has a toy on a lift. 350z/370z sites on my 350z. are mostly boring!
Last Sunday I did some more runs of 12.7 & 12.800.....
Looks like I'm back

1. The Z isn't a "drag" car so I wouldn't expect to see many at the strip.
2. The Z IS a track car. I see lots of them at tracks all over. I see lots of them at autocrosses and drifting events.
10-15 seconds at the drag strip isn't enough excitement for most people. Not when compared to the couple hours of seat time you get on a road course.

BTW - there are almost twice as many threads in the Autocross/Road forum as in the Drag forum. Who's more popular around here???
Autocross "times" are meaningless because every course is different - you can't compare apples to oranges.

I dont get on here saying I ran a 39 sec autocross last weekend because it would be absolutely impossible for anyone to know if it was good bad horrible or spectacular.
I do plan to get some of the veteran AutoX guys to give me some more advice later this winter to set my car up better for next season

[QUOTE=DavesZ#3;8814926]I didn't say it didn't have respectible times in the 1/4 mile, it's just not what it excels in.

Just checked it. Autocross more popular. Still, almost all just talk & look.

Gets a 30mph head start & expects me to catch him. My point is, its all talk. I hear all the time how fast/quick their cars are. At the track, they can't break 14 seconds. Twin turbos, supercharges, nitros, headers, nitro, chrome/titanium exhaust, 4:08 gears, wheels, tires, 1200 hp axels, 6 disc clutches, pulleys, aluminum this & that. Just for show/talk. I've never seen anything to THAT extend. All those mods-all that talk, & yet not one car racing(maybe one
