new engine warranty
You may be able to press Nissan for 60 month -60,000 miles. Save all documentation showing that the engine was replaced. Doubt if you will get anything from Nissan in writing.

It gets worse, much worse.
I bought the car used in May (on my B-Day as a present to myself) at a PREMIUM due to the at the time 10k motor replaced new as a long block by Nissan that I was assured would be trouble free.
I had issues with the selling dealer and Nissan gave me 2 years free oil changes as an apology. I had it done at 2-2500 mile intervals to be a jerk and noticed the oil was low after the second change.
When I brought it for the third change I asked that they begin the consumption procedure which caused them to say on the invoice I said it was using oil. I returned at 1200 miles and they said the level was about 1/2 quart low.
I had been measuring WITH A RULER per the TSB and knew it was more than 9mm low.
They had not followed the TSB at all. When I asked them to complete it they said they were supposed to "seal" the dipstick and drain and had not.
After a few days of calling, the service manager and Dealer general manager and being ignored I finally caught the service manager in and he agreed to do the final measurement. It was at 11mm in the morning when I left home yet they said it was at 8mm and as there were by then 19xx miles on the oil change I was sol as that mileage requires 11mm!!!!!!!!!
They said they topped it up this time (oops left out they did not top it up the second time I went back as they should) yet it is at 6mm down! They can't even properly top up a crankcase!
Bear in mind Nissan had already told me to pound sand both because the engine was over 12k & by now the car was over 70k. M.P.P. is on the hook and now I have to start over at another dealer.
I filed a complaint against this dealer and add this to the decision I already made that I will never buy a Nissan product again including cup of noodles which I know is not them!

It depends on if you still are within the 5yr/60k miles for powertrain from the start of the original warrenty date. If you are out then its goin to be 1yr/12k miles which ever come first.
well if thats the case your powertrain warrenty is up with the 60k mile mark but because you still had less then 2k of miles left with the new engine thats all you get. doesnt matter if you bought after the original owner put miles on it. now its time to think about getting a extended warrenty but only get the best one nissan gold prefered with a zero deduct. if you plan on keeping the car long. Thats what im going to do after my basic runs out on my nismo.
I have 50.00 deductible M.P.P three years or 99k whichever comes first. They will be rebuilding the engine after I get this consumption test.
The thing that bothers me is Nissan did not resolve the issue. They are slapping new possibly defective engines in cars with a probability it will outlast the meager 12k warranty (20k before I noticed mine was doing it) and then refusing case by case requests they do something.
