Daily Driver
2200 miles of worry free driving so far. If you have to drive to work, shouldnt it at least be fun? As for winters, I left DC a few years ago, SC has a real mild winter compared to some places.

No way...
This is my weekend / fun car.
It has only been driven in the rain once --my bad. It will NOT BE DRIVEN THE SNOW this winter. She is parked in a climate controlled garage.
I do not drive her to the grocery store, the mall, or WallyWorld.
I do not drive her to work (and park her in a lot , do I look crazy??)
This is my baby, and I will baby her.
My daily; 2000 Maxima SE / Auto. The Max is a fun car to commute in. I drive about 45 miles to work and back each day.

7 months (almost at 8) and it was a daily driver for 6 of those months. Ever since I have to commute 50 miles a day, I decided to let my baby sit in the garage. 12.5k miles to this date.

It's currently my daily driver. 11 months old with 15k miles. No real problems with the Z as the dairly ride, it's actually great fun. Though I'm thinking of getting something a little more "practical" for everyday use. Probablly something with 4 doors. My wife does like the Volvo V70R.....300hp, Brembo brakes, hmmmmmmm

I didn't intend it to be my daily driver but it turned into the daily driver. Weather out in San Francisco is mild almost year round so I can take the Z out just about everyday. Sold the Maxima and I'll be looking to get a cheap SUV to haul the bikes, snowboards and friends when necessary.

Re: Is Z your daily driver?
My Roadster is my daily driver except for when it snows or when I need to haul stuff.
I drive about 1 hr each way to/from work. The Z makes the long commute a little nicer than it was before.
My backup is a old 1998 Dodge Durange w/ a 5.9 Liter V8. It comes out in snow, shopping, home depot runs, or once a week to keep it alive. I also use it for going to bars or when I am going anywhere that I don;t want to park my Z.

My Z is a weekend car, do not drive it in rainy weather. My daily driver is a 1993 Mazda RX-7 which has 111,000 miles and runs almost like new. It's really fast but has a kidney jarring ride.
