I replaced my air filter today and when I looked in my airbox, I found little pellets that look like rodent droppings. How in the hell do they get in there?

Didn't find any bones. Just droppings and leaves. Vacuumed it out and replaced the filter. Hoping to get better gas mileage now that my air supply is poop free. ;p

UPDATE: Hate to disappoint everybody but it's not a chipmunk. I came out this morning to clear the driveway (got over a foot of snow) and when I approached the car, a mouse bolted out of the bottom of the car onto the snow. I chased it away but who knows if it will come back. Time to get more aggressive about this problem. My brother in law (exterminator) wants to put in the poison to kill it but I am afraid the thing will crawl into a crevice somewhere, die and forever add a smell of rotten flesh to the Z. I'll talk to him about trapping it. See what he says.

yeah,i kind of figured it was a field mouse. Because if you did some research, chipmunks like to dig a den and "hibernate".

Capture one > Be-head it and put its head on a toothpick > Stick near car to warn further intruders.

Just set up traps near your car with food. I just use the old school mouse traps and they get caught pretty quick. I used dry dog food or peanut butter. Better do it soon cause if if starts producing kids, you are screwed!

^^^ Holy crap!!! And I thought I had problems.

UPDATE: I set up 2 poison boxes outside the car. They have copious amounts of poison in them smeared with peanut butter. I checked the other day and it looks like something has been chewing on it. That means that whatever it was, it's dead now. I am going to leave it out for some time to make sure all of the friends, relatives and acquaintances are also "taken care of". So far, the car seems clear of any activity after I set up the boxes. Hopefully that will be the end of it.
