UPDATE: I set up 2 poison boxes outside the car. They have copious amounts of poison in them smeared with peanut butter. I checked the other day and it looks like something has been chewing on it. That means that whatever it was, it's dead now. I am going to leave it out for some time to make sure all of the friends, relatives and acquaintances are also "taken care of". So far, the car seems clear of any activity after I set up the boxes. Hopefully that will be the end of it.
Look up the dirt doctor web site. He has vendors that have natural repellants for alot of pesky visitors. Im sure he has a vendor with something for squirels and field mice. They can give you a electrical nightmare in no time..... Been there done that. Six weeks is all it took for them to do several $ damage to my sons 240sx. 6 months later its still in the garage... Air condition not working, 2 air sensors destroyed and a electical drain which we can not find the cause yet.

Last year when I got the Z out in the Spring I had mice droppings all over in the engine bay and inside the center console by the shifter. I had them behind the passenger seat and driver seat. I almost bought one of those car bags this year (its like putting your car in a giant zip lock bag). Anyway I researched and researched and was told that dryer sheets keep the mice away because they hate that scent. So I gave it a whirl. I littered the interior with Downey dryer sheets. I think i have about 20 in there all over. I check every couple weeks and absolutely no signs of mice. So whether that is a crap fact or not, it worked for me. My garage is heated so its even a bigger problem. They say if your car is an old barn where it is not climate controlled they won't bother because its just as cold as outside. The heated garage though is a warm place and thats what they are after. It certainly is a cheap way, won't hurt to try.
