Default 350Z Vs Rx8 shootout on Topgear

On Sunday, BBC's Topgear showed a comparison of the RX8 and 350z. The cars were timed ona track with a good mix of corners/straights. Amazingly the cars came out with exactly the same times! I own neither (at the moment), but have recently driven both and felt the 350z had much more urgency than the rx8.

Cheers
Graham

Well, RX-8 is light car. And I've heard that RX-8 was faster around the track then RX-7.

Yeah. It really is different on a track. The RX8 is definitely lighter than a 350Z and it's supposed to be a lot more rigid than the last gen RX7. Both cars have their own attributes that make it nice and both cars have their own downfalls. Take it as you wish.

Similar comparison was done here by Motor Magazine IIRC and a professional driver. The RX-8 had a lap time 0.1 seconds slower than the Zed. The RX-8 may not be as powerful but I believe it has a handling advantage which evens things out.

For what it's worth, I just watched the video, and in it Jeremy Clarkson (the host) says the RX8 "has 228 bhp."

Only if she comes in the back seat.

Thanks for the link ares. I saved it to my HDD for later viewing.
Do they have one with more focus on the Z?

Dont you guys realize road racing has more to do with driver skill, weight, braking, handling, power. In order of importance.

yup, judging by the M3 time Id venture to say that track is HEAVY on the turns, which would hurt the Z and M3. just my guess.

I download lots of those videos, but I do not have the Z test drive, but I am going to start looking for it.
