Question when am i getting my car back?!?

so 3rd gear was going out and nessan said to bring hte car in so they can fix it. i did.

well, the damn thing's been in the shop for 8 days now. they assured me that my car would be done tues. (i took it in last monday)

i'm going out of town wed morning, so i really need the car by tues. and again, i was assured it would be ready.

they've been giving me the "i'll call you back," "oh the parts still aren't in, i'll check and call you back" "oooooh, any momnet now that tranny is gonna come in"

they never call back. so i keep checking in. i was told fri. that the parts would be here early monday and that the car would be ready monday afternoon. guess what? still no car "we'll call you back"

what the hell can i do? it's getting in the 30's here so i'm sure as **** not gonna ride my bike. i'm tired of the run around and i still have no vehicle to take me to work and school.

how long idd it take yall to get the your trannies replaced, did you get a rental (they told me nissan wouldn't authorize a loaner car) and what did you do about the line of farking bs they fed you?!

tahnks in advance for the help.

Damn that suxs, I guess it all depends on your dealer. My service manager was awesome. He gave me a loaner car and my tranny was installed within a day. I dropped it off at 7am and it was done at 5pm. They just called me in when all the parts were in and it went pretty smooth.

I am surprised that the dealer didn't give you a rental. I doubt that Nissan would foot the bill for that car but, the Dealer should.

yeah, they told me that they don't do rentals or loaners. i was told that nissan doesn't approve them.

what really pisses me off about hte whole ordeal is that my car has been sitting there, unworked on, for 8 farking days. the parts still haven't come in. i asked why they needed my car to sit there while they were waiting on the parts and they said "well, we need to take the tranny out see what hte problem is"

WTF DOES IT MATTER WHAT THE PROBLEM IS IF YOU'RE REPLACING HTE WHOLE DAMN THING ANYWAYS?!?!?!?!?!

so the short of it is my car has been sitting at the dealership for 8 days. it's still not fixed. i was promised it would be ready fri. then mon, now tues. they said if the parts don't come in tomorrow, that they can look into getting me a rental. WHAT??? *sigh* so now, after not having the car for over a week, they're willing to do a rental. all i'm saying is those ****ers are getting me a z as a rental. that, or a damn caddy. after all this, i'm not settling for something that's lesser than my car.

i've had the car 6 weeks and i hate the nissan dealers already. (still love the car...when i have it...)

i can't take my car back. they said that it's "supposed" to be getting fixed tomorrow.

and i asked several times for loaners. i'm just pissed that they told me they don't do loaners, and now after 8 days and going back on their word all of the sudden...they do rentals.

i think this calls for a free detailing too. bastids.

Noooo don't let them detail your car. Well the outside of it anyways. They will scratch the $hit out of your paint job.

hmmm, maybe make em pay for a pro job? or let them do it, and if they farck it up...repaint my car (it's super black, so farcking up is an easy thing to do.) i'm thinking i'll ask for hte detailing job an not accept anything until i'm satisfied.

hooray nissan. it just sucks that they're screwy tranny and service is becoming such a damn headache for me.

have any of yall had this kind of experience with the tranny replacement? i mean, i've heard horror stories about the service...but not with the tranny swap.

Which dealer did you go to... hope its not South Point doing this.
Every nissan dealership does free rental if the car stays over night... it should be part of your warranty!

I cant believe your 3rd gear was going out in a track model... (havent seen to many of them with that prob).

Also tell them you want an equivalent rental or upgrade for them F...ing with you for so long. If they still give you beef call NNA and give them a nice Review of your situation.

Well, I just dropped off my track today to have the tranny checked out too. (It won't shift into second or first as I come to a stop...or at a dead stop for that matter sometimes). I'ts been there 6 hours already, and I haven't heard what's going on. I'll let you know what time they give me when I hear.

yes sir, it sure is south point nissan. and they told me that they don't do loaners or rentals.
well guess what? the car wasn't ready again today. they told me they would get me a rental (after about 30 minutes of me waiting on hold and arguing that i need a car) yeah, but they're only going to give me a rental for 2 days. 2 FARKING DAYS. my car was there for 9 days. i say was b/c i took it home today. when i went up there to see why the hell they were dicking me around so much i saw my car just sitting in the garage. i asked if it was drivable, and the guy said "oh yeah, it's been drivable since you brought it in. i don't know why your service guy opted to keep it here"

at that point, i was twitching doing everything i could not to reach out and strangle the guy. long story short, i took my car home and told them to call me when the parts got there. (i didn't want to have to deal with a kia, or whatever the hell they were gonna give me. especially for only 2 days)

anywho, my car is ****ing filthy. they left it outside for a while, and it's now brown. i talked to victor there (who actually was the previous owner) and he said he'd get me a detailing j

ramon, do you have a lot of experience with south point? cus i'm really fed up at this point. i would like to say that the service guys have been nice, and i understand some things are out of their control. but they shouldn't tell me one thing when they don't know what's going on. then the fact that i've been blatantly lied to about the rental/loaner issue really pisses me off.

so now, my still broken, filthy car is sitting in my garage with the promise that the parts will be in friday and the car will be fixed friday. swell, more empty promises.

At least you're getting parts. After having my car the majority of the day, the dealership told me they could not find anything wrong with it. Sorry I haven't a time frame to tell you.

what did you bring it in for? if it something like a rattle, it's hard for them to fix if they can't find it.

but if you're not happy with it, bring it back and make a fuss until they fix your car like you want it fixed. unfortunately, i'm discovering it's the bitchiest customer that gets satisfied. too bad it has to work like that.

It's not so much the noise that bothers me, it's the inability to shift properly. My car has the characteristic muted spinning sound like a Ducati dry clutch, and I can live with that, if that's the way it should be.
What bothers me is that after driving around for about an hour, when I come to either a stop sign or a light, I'll start downshifting from , say, fourth. I get through third and then I simply can't get it into second or first! I'll come to a dead stop and still nothing. I'll push in the clutch a couple times and then it'll let me shift, barely...quite stiff and notchy. It's a real pain in the ***!!
Most days the car runs great, but the times it acts up, I'm nowhere near the dealer.

they're saying that along with the tranny replacement, they're also putting in a longer shift fork. it sounds like that's what you're having trouble with.

i dunno, like i said, if you [i]know[/] something is wrong, i'd ***** til they fix it. that's what the warranties are for. sucks that you have to throw such a fit to get them to do what they're supposed to do.
