to be completely honest... i'm in love
the Z and X are most definitely apples and oranges. obviously, driving an awd/rwd is very different. the s-awc is completely badass - the car just wants you to push it harder and further. i'm honestly worried that if i mod my suspension, i'll lose some of this crazy handling. the car is absolutely ON RAILS from the factory.
the 'unexpected' speed of a turbo-charged 4-door sedan is incredible. i took 3 of my buddies at work to lunch this week and i got on it (75% throttle) and their responses were all "whoaa.. HOLY ****!!!!!!" one of 'em drives an 07 HR Z and his jaw was on the floor. i must say, this car is very fast, faster than my Z ever was. and what is even crazier is the amount of power this car gains on simple bolt-ons. not only that, but an OTS base map will net 20% whp, stock! i've got a Cobb AccessPort enroute (arriving today actually) and i'm looking at drop-in filter. reports of 30-50hp to the wheels is apparently not an uncommon thing for the Evo X. plans after don't really include a whole lot... i've got the 2011 model with has the upgraded exhaust. i may look into a few aesthetic upgrades (already put a shorty antennae on her), but performance-wise, i'm going to remain as close to stock as possible for as long as i can. we'll see how long i can hold out
here's a few phone pics for now...

I just read your story about your car and it brough back what happened to me :/ I got rear ended by a semi on the highway about 2 months ago. I drove a chevy trailblazer at the time, and the semi was tailgating me hard. Friday afternoon, rush hour traffic, but anyways traffic stopped abrubtly up ahead so it hit the brakes pretty hard, the semi was paying attention at all and i could see him coming fast in my rear view so i tried to swerve into the middle lane to avoid getting hit (and sandwhiched inbtween the semi and the car infront of me) but he hit me as i was swerving sending me across all 3 lanes where i hit the concrete divider in the middle of i70, bounced off and fish tailed to face traffic and slid all the way back across all 3 lanes finally coming to a stop in the emergency lane. After hitting the first wall and realzing I was ok, i was relieved but as soon as I started heading back across all 3 lanes i though that was it for me. I just closed my eyes and hoped for the best, and luckily made it out ok. God was looking out for me SO lucky I didnt roll though, my rim split in half and I was slidding on my rotor :/ I did get my Z out of it tho, so a blessing in disguise?

Glad you are ok.
WHERE IS THAT VDC @#$@ WHEN YOU NEED IT! LOL
Funny....I used to use those Handcock tires,,,, kept sliding into walls.....
I put on BFG KDWs (flame tread FTW bigger pads) and NO MORE OF THAT CRAP!
BTW You can and will probably still slide in a Evo, my answer. buy better tires. GL

Thanks guys! The Evo was not stock... I went to stage 2 almost immediately and was pushing about 330hp to the wheels (etuned, never dynoed - but I had comparable parts that others' had on their cars that showed that amount of power). The car was fast, but I wasn't happy with it - not like I was with my Z. I had a laundry list totaling upwards of $12k in parts I wanted to put on the car. It became a money pit so fast. And I just wasn't happy with the overall build quality of the car. It felt very cheap after driving it everyday for 7 months.
I'm so stoked to be back in a Z. The 370 definitely gives a familiar feeling to what I was used to. The Z is not as quick as the Evo - but I don't care. It makes up for it with everything else... quality, service, looks, top end, driver feedback, community, etc.
Oh yeah, now I get to go to Z Fest and ZdayZ and not be depressed the entire time haha
