Default Why Bad JD Power Ratings??

Check them out here:

http://www.jdpower.com/cc/auto/jdpa_...ndJdAwards.jsp

Did the 350z do bad because it is a first year model?

Compared to other cars, it does not fair very well. I disagree with some of JD power's review.

these aren't JD power's reviews, this is what the general public who purchased the cars felt about it.

It's not that bad at all. Do a comparison with the 2003 Honda Accord, pretty much a wash overall.

These type of surveys are to be taken with a grain of salt. There are too many variables. We could get every owner here to rate the Z good or bad and the results would reflect our good or bad agenda.

Remember, happy people are less inclined to fill out surveys or say anything at all.

Angry people can cast quite a negative light on something as a whole, even if they are very much in the minority.

I think it's human nature (or maybe part of being American) to ***** and complain. Multiply by two if you're a woman!

Thumbs down

I'm beginning to feel the info is even less valid now looking at some other cars at least when it comes to the quality section.

Take a look at the 2003 Chevy Cavalier, 2003 Honda Accord, 2003 Toyota Camry and the 2003 Dodge Neon. The Neon and Cavalier stacked up pretty well compared to the Accord (in some cases better !??!). The 2003 Audi TT did very well too yet TTs have **** reliability.

Then take a look at say 2002 thru 2004 Maximas. It's interesting that people felt the 02 had 4 dots for performance and the 03 had 3. Comfort also went from 3 to 2 from 02 to 03. Almost nothing was changed between the 2 years! It's not clear if maybe people felt the 02 was better than the rest back then and when the 03s rolled around, the competition was better?

Strangely enough, the 04 has a 5 for performance! The car got heavier and is a little slower than the 02 and 03s despite the extra power.

my girlfriend was the one that pointed this out to me.

she has a toyota celica that rated much better in jd power.

I told her that we should compare 0-60 times, horsepower, skidpad g's, etc... because thats what I care about!

JD Power does top box scoreing, ie if you mark the box excellent its a 100 if you mark anything bellow that its a "0". Thats why the score is low.
