Default Smashed Z

This what happens when you lend your new z to your son...

too fast too wet and too inexperienced, we believe He crashed at over 200kph. Skid marks for 100mtrs... The Crash didn't kill him but I still might. He walked away with out a scratch. Estimated Au$25,000 to repair. and off the road for about 3 months.

200KPH??? and thats all the damage it has? and its gonna cost 25000$? did he like slide over a rail or something and tear up the underside that we cant see? that looks like 2 or 3000 worth of cosmetic damage from that picture.

good to hear he's ok.

He Took out two trees, side ways. The damage is underneath - all the struts were bent and two of he airbags went off. Its a solid car but parts are expensive over here and everything will be shipped in from japan, most of the cost is in the body kit 4,500 and 4 new tyres(they were shreaded).

Geezz....sorry to hear about that.
You should be glad that your son didn't kill anyone. Some ppl just have to learn the lesson the hard way. Let's just hope that he learned.

Thanks for the sympathy - I feel like I lost my best new friend, The insurance company has not written it off they intend to fix it. I just spent an extra $4,000 on it the week before, new exhaust/cold air intake and upgraded the ECU, Out here in in outback Australia the Speed limit is unlimited and I have taken her up to 245kph on the open read handles realy well (used toi handle realy well). They test a lot of cars out here BMW, Ferrari etc (high temps with High speed).. we see a lot before they hit the media. My son is walking every were now I took his car/bike and other form of transport I could think off to teach him a leason

your son is fortunate...

fortunate to have a dad who will totally mod out a z...

and ultimately fortunate to make it out of that alive.

Good luck to you both

Not to preach but I hope your son realizes what just happened and more importantly what could have happened to him. I obviously did not see the accident, but the speed he crashed at makes me think he really is lucky to still be here.

As for the car, I certainly hope they can fix that thing like new. A lot of underbody work combined with the cosmetic stuff makes me think not.

Keep us posted and good luck with it.

Very sorry to hear of your/your son's misfortune. I don't think I would have the composure to stay sane if my Z came home that way.

What upgrade to the ECU did you make? Is this the one that adds 15HP?? Waiting for it to be available here in the US! Good luck mate!

I think when you hear your son's been in a serious accident the car is the least of your concerns. It's a shame he didn't use his head a little more and exercised discretion. 200kph in the rain is never a good idea. Even on a straight-away you're going to hydroplane and ... Well, I guess you know exactly what happens.

I'm glad to hear he's ok. How old is he?

I would suggest enrolling him in a race school. I know BMW has driver courses that let you go on the track and push the cars. If it doesn't get it out of his system, it will at least teach him about the limitations of cars and just how far you can push them.

I remember taking my moms Corvette and Fiat out and beating the hell out of it many times. Boys will be boys but this is an expensive lesson.
