For Those In Va/md With A 9/4-5 Delivery?
I had a 9/5 delivery and my vin has not even showed up on the Nissan site. I know there has been a delay for us mid-atlantic people, but I have heard so many reasons why I don't know which to believe. My dealer had their first car show up yesterday on the site. The car is EXACTLY the same as mine except for the exterior color. The bad thing is the VIn is higher than mine 9only by 14#'s). I am trying to be patient but I'm besides myself with excitement. Any info from those in the know will be much appreciated.
VIN number has nothing to do with delivery date. Sure they might have rolled off the assembly line in order...but then they are put in some order at the loading dock in Japan...driven into a ship in some other order, unloaded from the ship in yet another order, then moved to a final installation site in the states, and there they are probably sorted by options, then parked someplace else in some other order awaiting transportation, then loaded onto trucks for delivery.
My dealer, also mid-atlantic, had 3 VINS listed on Nissans websites on Labor Day Monday. However, the dealers reports showed that 1 was to be delivered on Tuesday 9/3, the other two listed, one of which is mine, are to be delivered today, Friday 9/6. The first car was delivered on 9/3 like the report stated.
So it appears that there are no clear patterns for delivery by VIN # or when the VINs are listed on the Nissan Webisite.
I guess the only things we can really be sure of is that if you have a VIN, your car is assembled and being transfered to the states. And if your car is on Nissans website, delivery is soon, but it could be a day, or it could be a week...and just because multiple cars are listed the same day, doesn't nessicarly mean they will be delivered at the same time.
