Default Dealership changed hands and said they "LOST" my records...

... check this out, I'm going through the tire feathering gig like a lot of others. No big deal, right?

Well, the last time I was in the dealership I received an invoice which states; "tires chopped per NTB03-006A Adjust toe-in, swap front tires and balance OP code WD40AA PW10AA ZL44".

I was not happy as my Z feels and sounds like a 4x4 so the service guy says he'll order new front tires and they'll be there in 2 to 3 weeks.

3 weeks go by and nothing from the dealer so I called. My service rep is no longer there, dealership changed hands and no records of my service or tires on order is available to them.

Bottom line is that I have to start over. I am told that all my service records are non-existant so my car needs to be inspected again. Bummer.

I called another dealer, spoke with another service agent and he told me that because I now have 9,700 miles on my car Nissan will not replace my tires without first getting approval from Nissan's Customer Service. I called Nissan's Customer Avoidance Department and am waiting to talk to a human at this time.

So is this normal Nissan Service? No dealers intercommunicating? Past service records null and void? Lost files?

Wait until they hear the rattle in the transmission!

I thought it was 12,000 mi was the limit.
I think the dealership should replace them under warranty.
I think there are alot of posts on this forum about it.

Call Nissan. Show this dealer's moron the service receipts from the previous times you were there. Just be sure you complain to NNA. They'll help. It's Nissan's call to replace the tires, if the dealer isn't going to eat the cost of them (which rarely happens). Usually they help the owner with NNA by insisting that NNA buy new tires.

Nothing is null and void if you've kept the receipts! The new management may try to stiff you on honoring the previous management's deals, but Nissan will help you if you have the receipts to show.

isnt everything tracked in a national service database or something? When I called NNA, they were able to tell me everytime I went in for service.

And always remember to be polite and courteous, despite how frustrated you might be. Being nice will just about always get your further than being a jerk.

Default a national service database

I asked the dealer about that and they said they don't have access to it.

I think they have my tires but don't want to give them to me for some strange reason because the dealer said that they just received some tires that were on order for three weeks (funny, that's how long I've waited for mine).

I asked them that if they didn't have customers information from the original dealer and they just changed hands last week how could they have received tires that were on order two weeks prior to their arrival and know that those tires wern't mine. I was met with silence.

that shows their guilt.

Bottom line is NNA has (or should have) records of your service. Have a representative call the dealer and tell them you were authorized tires and are due tires.
