Default How does one tell what trim a 350z is.

Hey all,

new here..
this might be a noob question, but what would be ways of telling what trim the car is?
Does one have to go beyond just looking at it?

thnks

go to www.nissanusa.com
then go to the 350Z section
then look at the various trim levels
you can even compare the various models or list all the parts

otherwise... you may not be able to tell just by looking

Someone could buy a Base model and add the Track model wheels and Brembos and aero kit and, voila, it looks like a Track model.

From a distance its kind of a crap shoot except for the track model. Sometimes you just have to know which options come
with which trim level. Here are the most common setups

Track
18" Ray's/Volks 6 spoke Rims
Brembo brakes

Touring
leather/electronic seats
Nav, BOSE (Not all)(None below Touring)
Automatic 17" 7 spoke rims
Manual 18" 6 spoke rims

Performance
VDC and cloth seats
18" Rims 6 spoke
Manual Trans
Autodimming/Homelink Mirror on Performance and above

Enthusiast
17" Rims 7 spoke
Manual Trans
Traction control

yea i also noticed that only Touring comes with a cassete player.. whichis kind of weird..

ok.. so the conclusion is that looks can be deceiving, but what about so serial numbers or something?
anywhere on the car/hood/whereever does it have some digits that would tell you for sure what trim it is?

Track model - brembos and different 18's

touring - different colored leather

performance 18" 6-spokes (could be a touring too, but you will know it is at least a performance)

enthusiast - its a crapshoot, since the 17's come on the touring AT, and both AT and MT enthusiast models.

base - headlight color, steering wheel lacking cruise control

I wonder why that is? I'm looking into a Z and I would actually want a cassette player. Strange that it would be available with one, but not on the other models.

Great posts. Yeah, I forgot about base/enthus not having HID headlights.

The cassette only comes with the BOSE

The Enthusiast trim model has HID. Base does not.

My Touring has a six cd player. Are you adding that to your list N666? And I'll be damned if I know if it has a cassette player. I don't use it or look at it!
We have everything but the Brembo brakes, and the navi! I know where I'm going! Oh, and I didn't want that back wind spoiler. We manufactured a customer front spoiler we hope to have ready for the open market soon.

simply put, track has volks.

touring has leather.

performance has 18" rims but no leather

enthusiast has 17" rims but does have cruis control, no leather.

base no CC

basicly 3 things to look for; rims, CC, and leather.

so yes you do need to look inside, without getting up close and personal you cant tell too much.

ok from all this i see that:

6CD +Tape
Leather/electronic Seats
Cruise Control
HID Headligths

^^ all those hint to Touring!

I'm not very good with rims/wheels.. all i know is that they have "Moda" emblem in the midle..

Thanks for all your help.

moda would be aftermarket. so that of course wouldnt help. but leather means touring for sure; unless its aftermarket(which since the wheels are; isnt out of the question) 6cd/tape again for sure touring unless it looks aftermarket as well, but I doubt it.

only part left is auto vs manual, which is obvious..
