Default Dealership NOT doing anything about feathering!

had my car into the shop today and I must say that I am VERY unsatisfied with their service. I had a ton of problems that needed fixing, mainly feathering after 4500 miles, and one of my tire pressure sensors broke. I called them over a week ago to let them know they needed to order a new tire pressure sensor so it was in when I made my appointment. I just got a call from them, after they had my car all day, saying that there was nothing they could do about feathering except rotate my tires, and they need to order the tire pressure sensor, because they forgot to do it before my appointment. I also had one of my clear reverse lights loose, but they said they didnt want to take off the bumper to get to the light so its not fixed. Basically they had my car for 8 hours, and did nothing to it. I dont understand why the service is so crappy, I feel like I am being treated unfairly because I am a girl, so if they dont fix everything next time I go in (gotta take another half day from work now) Im thinkin further action must be taken. Ive heard that other people are getting alignments and even new tires for feathering, what can I say to them to get my car fixed? Rotating my tires isnt going to help at all. Sorry, just venting. Any ideas on how I can kick their asses into gear??

Ask for an alignment... it should be done...

You should get tires if they are bad (this really depends on the tires) If they arent bad just get the alignment and rotation. Becareful, my dealer switched my tires and spun them the wrong direction, the rotation arrow was going the wrong way, didnt notice it till a week later.

My suggestion is going to Firestone and Buy a lifetime Alignment pass. $120 if you apply for a firestone card. (I dont work for them, but I got great service from them). They should even rotate for you, no problem.

You should have you car aligned 2 times a year (im going to shoot for 3-4 times). Buying a lifetime pass will save you money. Plus companies like FS specialize in tires/alignment... Dealers service team do a variety of jobs, some things poorly.

BTW - you have a greddy AERO kit, is that the TRUST one... how much and where did you buy?

It does sound like they're trying to blow you off. Show up with some company. A grumpy old grand dad would be great. Be polite but firm. Ask them what they are going to do to fix your car and then just wait until they say what you want to hear.

Good luck.

I would suggest calling Nissan North America as mentioned previously and print out the long post about tire feathering here as proof of other's people's experiences.

If you call NNA, they should open a case which you can take to the dealer. Better yet, go to another dealer with better service.

Up here in Canada, Nissan has a pretty good reputation for service (at least from what I'm hearing).

go to a different dealership, and bring in a copy of the tire feathering TSB #. try tamaroff nissan on telegraph. might be a bit out of the way for you, but it got to the point to where i thought they were going to manually start kissing my a$$ because of how nice they were.
pretty cool guys too. they sent my car out to belle tire and had some "350z specialist" adjust the tires as far as they go. and they had to retorque the suspension because of some noise. all gone now.

imma have to go back there to get the bose TSB done, and i want to get the window TSB done. im getting sick of looking at the grease marks on my freshly tinted windows.

good luck
peace

I think you should try to find a new dealer. I had the same problems with the dealer I bought my car at, they weren't really willing to do any work and it took them forever to get it done. I had enough of that so I took it to another dealer. They ordered me new tires, new parts to fix a few rattles and even new amps (although I don't have a bose). I think you'll just have to find one that is a bit more responsive. Also, don't go to a dealer just because they say they have high ratings - the first dealership I took my car to was rated #1 in the area and they sucked.

For those of you who had the tires replaced by Nissan, where they the stock tires? Would Nissan replace tires if they were not stock?

yeah its the trust/greddy one, got it from Street Sports, but I have seen it much cheaper just about everywhere else.

Thanks for the advice guys, Im going back in tomorrow and Im going to be a jackass to them. I was also talking to an attourney about it, they can write letters and make phone calls, doesnt sound very threatening, but might work.

Nissan told me they would NOT replace anything but the RE040s that came with the car. This included snow tires, had I bought them. That's part of the reason why I sold my car.

I picked up an '04 WRX. It's no Z but there are no suspension problems with them and they have plenty of potential.

I'm still keeping my eye on Nissan to see if they get their act together with the 350Z. I might rejoin the crowd again, if Nissan doesn't drop the ball on this car.
