Try to buy down some of the debt, ie put more down. Have a yard sale!

Ricky,

Check out the other thread where everyone is posting their payments. One person leased their Z with almost the exact same amount for under $450 with no down for 60 months.

does out the door include tax?

Check the nissandriven web site. They have lease payments available (dont forget to add sales tax to their figure!)

remember that leasing requires a deposit ($500-?) and first month payment.

Also, try a six year loan and about 5k down. That should be about 450. Try http://autos.yahoo.com/finance/calcloanlease.html to mess with #'s Fees should be around $350.

2 ways I can think of off hand.

1. 7 year loan at 7% is ~440.

2. "Better than lease" program...available as somecredit unions (www.paymentshaver.com)...you buy the car using lower installment payments and have a balloon due at the d=end of the time period.

example at http://www.truliantfcu.org/att20a.htm

Good luck

Get a 30 Mortagage Loan on your house at 4.75%, and make whatever payments you feel like from $150 a month and up. Major flexability, obviously don't want to pay minimum, end up paying $65K for a $33K car in 30 years, also godforbid you get in an accident in 2 years, have only paid off like 5K, the car has seriously deprecated and you have tons of payments left.

10K down at 8.5% is 441 assuming 5% sales tax and a couple of hundred for plates and fees.

Guys, Ricky is 17 years old. None of the above are options for him.

Sensing a pattern here Rick?

Maybe it is time someone talked some sense to Ricky's parents. They are not doing him any favors by letting him run around like crazy trying to finance a car. He obviously can not afford the car, and is only going to screw up his finances and possibly his life.
I agree %100!

I wonder if mom and dad knew all of this, if they would STILL let him do this to himself. I believe that there are times when a parent should just sit back and allow their kids to make their own mistakes. That being said, I do not think that this is one of those times. I mean if the kid is 18 and living on his own, fine. But at 17 and still under mom and dad's roof. No way.
