At least it's not a brickyard,. List all the mods for part out. J/k

Glad your bro is OK. Make him pay for the fix.

Ahhhhhh, the old "I swerved to avoid a [cat/dog/kid/monster] and lost control" story. The fall back excuse by every dumb *** kid for the last 50 years. It can rarely be disproved except in the case of a witness.

I suspect that picture doesn't show all the damage. Based on what we do see and some likely hidden damage, the chance of it being repairable is probably very very low. It will never be right anyway. I've seen Zs make minor "off road" excursions that have damaged just the suspension. Although the damaged parts get replaced, the OEM alignment seems to become an unreachable goal.

In any case, good luck!

This is why I'm glad my wife can't drive an HKS twin plate.

To make a Z go completely sideways into a tree on dry pavement requires:

Speed+VDC disabled+good yank on the wheel = your picture

The first thing that would prove that fact was how far the skid marks are... if you see a cat in the street your natural inclination would to let off the accelerator if not slam the brakes. Like I said... I'm glad your brother's safe but thats not damaged sustained from dodging a cat.

Maybe he was playing chicken with the VDC and it showed him who boss.

JK

In all seriousness that car is totaled. Its time to make your brother work full time to make payments on your 370z.

First: I would run over the cat because it a animal. Not a person
Second: Don't give your young brother the keys of your car. If he's older like 25 over and have a good job then maybe.

I dont even give the keys of my car to my older brother knowing how he drives cars. lol. (he worked at a BMW dealership and told me how reckless he drove those) he tried telling me when i go on a deployment he will drive it and i just laughed. Call me crazy but is there like a black box on the newer Z's. ive heard they started putting them on cars now for accidents and stuff, like something like it that records speed and braking Ill have to get a pic of the squirrel i hit, im sure its still there from yesterday. lol

The only reason i somewhat believe the story is where it happened. However, I know he lied about having tcs off. With those overly large and heavy rims, its hard enough breaking the tires loose with it off, let alone on. what sucks the most is I had ordered a radiator a few days ago, which showed up today.. Also due to my families situation, with my dad in the hospital as well as other factors, im not in a position to buy another car. for that reason alone, I'd prefer to get it fixed until I can purchase a new one. Its just surreal...I cant be too pissed at him because I did something similiar to my car when I was 17...however it was my car...not somebody elses.

That car is definitely toast. Start looking in your area for a similar year/mileage.

Ive definitely learned this the hard way...If this ones gone, I'm going to look into getting a manual instead of an auto..I'm the only one in my family that can drive a manual.

.. usually the story is 'a drunk ran me off the road'.. Maybe the cat was drunk? I'm sure that speed was not a factor.

But wow.. I'd figure the car is totaled, you would think that when it is almost folded in half. Good luck.
