Talking Two years wait - but now she's here

Finally we get the Z in England & she's just out of the shop, after having a few tweaks...

Enjoy, I will

From what I understand that box under the head light is some sort of camera that pops out to help with seeing around corners before you enter an intersection. I wish we had side markers and that cool camera here in the state. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Your icon laughs hysterically as if it doesnt exist....in which it does

It's an honest mistake, and it could easily be mistaken for the place where the corner cameras go.

However, the cameras only exist on Fairlady Z.

Thanks for the comments guys,

Just to confirm - it's a UK / European law that we must have side repeater indicators, so yes that's exactly what is mounted beneath the Z side emblem.

Another bit of Euro legislation is that if you have Xenon / HID headlights then you also have to have washers to the headlights.

We also get an oil cooler fitted as standard & a voice activated hands-free phone integration kit.

There is initially only 1 model available which is the GT pack with Rays Alloys, with the base model arriving in the New Year...

The GT spec is pretty much a Track spec with Leather, Heated seats - Bose, Brembos, HIDs, full airbags etc...

I've tricked out things with the VeilSide V1 Wing & Side Skirts, StrictlyZ LED Sidemarkers & loads of Courtesy Nissan bits

Got to fit more bits at the weekend

The Wink

That's the first time I've seen the headlight washer in action. Seems pointless to me.

Veilside Z is absolutly right!

I'm living in Austria and orderd my Fairlady a month ago. Will come in Feb. 2004 and I can't wait to give her a ride. It's like in the USA only Track Model available now, one in 2004.

You guys from the forum gave me really much help with my decision for this car.....

reg.
Toni

Default Salt

If you lived where they use salt to fight ice you would understand. Salty road water coats the lights and after a while it is like you turned your lights off.

In the winter I actually keep paper towels in the trunk and use washer fluid to clean the headlights. (mostly on my truck since the Z doesn't drive in the salt water).

Headlight washers sound like a great idea to me!

Exactly. I think a lot of sunny California folks don't realize how much your light output can be degraded by salt or dirt on your headlights. Even a coating of dust can make a difference. I actually wipe off my headlights and tail lights (and wash my windows) each time I fill up with gas.

All that being said, the way that these pressure washers work does annoy me a bit. My Audi has the same sort of system. My only real gripe is how they leave water *everywhere* on the front of the car. My Audi washers put up enough mist that, while driving down the freeway, it will mist up the hood, windshield, and any other nearby cars.

You guys are spot on - Salt on our roads is a killer...

It really does affect the visibility / performance of the headlights.

The other thing we have to watch out for is the way it completely screws up the finish to unprotected alloys.

The car is booked in for a clear bra the week after next, so hopefully it will keep it looking lovely for the long term - that & not much winter mileage anyway.

SoCal life makes us UK guys sooooo envious
