Default Z Warrenty work

Hi,

My 2008 350z is coming up on it's three year B-day. Car has 30,000 miles on her Only bad thing about this is the 3 yr warranty goes away. I have thought about some things I wanted done before the warranty ends.

I also want some of your input of what I should have looked at. Any issues that could give me problems in the future but might be spotted today.

First some things that have been done...

-Driver headlight had water in it and was replaced 7,000 miles
-Passenger window motor replaced about 10,000 miles
-Radio ate a CD. replaced about 14,000 miles
-Rear noise (we all know this). They silicone the area the suspicion was hitting the car. Z sounds like a luxury vehicle now minus the front dash vibration. 16,000
-Also front rotors spun (surprised me this was covered by the warranty) 16,000

Now for my list of stuff I would like done before 3 year warranty expires...

-Passenger headlight is foggy. Going to try to get it replaced with new one as it should not be doing this
-Driver mirror is loose. Want it tightened down.
-I guess I should get TSB stuff done?
-Would love to have window motors replaced as I know they will fail again. Hoping one will fail before warranty is up. Sometimes the passenger window gives me issues. Not going to puss this one.
-Brakes are making noise (pads still good). Want them checked out. Might get rotors spun for free again.
-Sometimes when the engine is idling it sounds like it almost sputters to a stall. The RPM will drop to about 250-200 and then shoots up to 800 RPM? Don't know what is doing this but drives me nuts.

That's my list for now.

Thanks for your input in advance,

Mason

Some items that you mention are covered by warranty. Some are not.

If I am a dealer, and you brought me a list of 12 items to fix for free, I think you are crazy.

- Loose mirror - should have been done under "adjustment" period (first 90 days), after that good luck with getting the dealer to do it under warranty.

- TSBs are nothing but instructions on how to fix problems. It's not a set of repairs that the dealer will do to a car "just because you want it". You have to have the problem first, then they can use a TSB to fix it. If you're out of warranty on the item, they you pay, otherwise warranty covers. No relation between warranty and TSB.

- I've never had a problem with window motor in 7½ years. Why would you expect to have a problem? Why would you expect a dealer to replace it without cause?

- Noisy brakes - again, most likely an "adjustment" and won't be covered under warranty. Brakes are wear items, don't get your hopes up on getting anything brake related covered unless the item is physically broken.

- Engine idle. Unless it's reliably repeatable, don't count on them even "finding" that problem much less fixing it.

Ok, here is the thing about engine idle - engines that consume oil develop a bad idle. Check your tailpipes - are they sooty and black inside? Or shiny and clean?

It might just be a bad sensor or fouled plugs. But it could be oil consumption.
