Experiences with Cops in the Z
The meth problem doesnt have much to do with the cops. I blame the boring area coupled with ease of access and the abundance of poor towns that produce it. Around ftlw is nothing but a ton of tiny *** towns with no other major income past farming and drugs. I know a few of the waynesville cops they are pretty bored and like to hang out on the one main road in town with its random speed changes. Problen being prettymuch the whole road is a school zone too so they arr required to ticket folks there. They are some of the most thorough cops i know though, their accident reports arent the bs cali copa do where they just ask if you are ok and watch you exchange info, more concerned we will shoot each other than being useful.
I've got a Valentine, and it has saved me more times than I can count. but as you say, not foolproof. When they hide and use instant on laser, not much you can do. I have a need for speed, lol.
+1 on this. The V1 has saved me countless times. The directional indicators are a lifesaver. The laser has been useful less often, but has still worked a few times. The thing that amazes me is that folks will say "Oh you have a radar detector, that stuff doesn't really work at all." and I can only chuckle.

Z Mount under rear view mirror is best (search "rear view radar mount"), along with an invisicord (search "rear view radar cord") so that you don't have the cord hanging down.
That's great. Other than the nice weather and local attractions, are you going to be giving-up anything dear?
@bmccann101 - I lived in Scottsdale when I first moved to AZ and I'd have to agree Scottsdale PD must have a good bank-roll. Never seen so many squad cars. At least all the pesky photo radar have been taken down. I have to drive pretty cautious on the 51 through Phoenix cause there are always DPS hiding.
my first ticket was a camera one making an right hand turn. $550 for a camera ticket. Since april ive been pulled over twice in my stock honda (before i got my Z) doing 65 in a 45 cops saw my military id and said have a nice night then got pulled over doing 110 on the way back to pendleton at 1am cops asked what my job was and i told him i drive a tank and he said not to drive my car like a tank and have a good night.Got my 04 Z Roadster in June and got a ticket two weeks after having it from a CHP doing 97 in a 70 on the 215 by the fallbrook exit. didnt even realize i was going that fast, was too used to my honda. lol. When i asked to cop if i could get a verbal warning he looked at me and asked if i knew how dangerous i was driving and I looked at him and said no this car is fairly safe "I admit i was arrogant about it, i knew i was getting the ticket by then" Z cruises at 97 while crown vic feels like it about to rattle off the wheels, should have asked if he wanted to drive it and see how well it handles. lol

Of course he also said, "I know you have a fast car, but you can't drive like that around here!". Yes sir! At that point in time, I had not had an in-state ticket in 20 years or more, so that probably took him by surprise - that, and he expected to see some youngster behind the wheel, which was not exactly the case, lol.
Bottom line... Don't drive like a douchebag and you'll be fine. Don't give the cop a reason to pull u over. I kno at times, if u got an itch... u gotta scratch.
A bunch of my buddies tell me I drive my car like a grandma. Which I do... for good reason. Unless I'm sliding my car haha

^^ good advice. thanks for the pics on that detector as well. I try not to need it but I would always like to know just to be safe, prevent me from scratching the itch at the wrong time. Ill look into that one. I keep seeing it in all the magazines I read but I dont usually give too much credit to a magazine ad.

mine has paid for it's self many times over.
Don't go cheap!!!
