I've been pulled over 3 times for speeding in 8 years. got off with a warning exactly one time. Highway Patrol here is pretty strict - they will allow about 10 over but anything beyond that I have never heard of someone getting off with a warning. County deputy let me off for 73 in a 55, Statie nailed me at 83 in a 55 coming around a blind curve on a local freeway, NC Statie got me leaving Fontana heading south on 28 for the same speed. Wasn't even during ZDayZ, was on my way to MB for a golf vacation. That one cost me about $350.00 - anything more than 20 over is mandatory court so had to get a lawyer or go back 3 weeks later. Quite a racket they run down there.
Never been pulled for any other reason though, so all my fault. No grudges.
Yikes! Ever thought about investing in a radar detector? I know they're not full proof but I've had luck with my Escort 9500i.

when I first got my z, cops would go out of their way to get behind me and follow me around. I didn't speed very often so it wasn't a bad thing, just made me a little nervous with them right on my bumper, but after a while they got used to seeing my car around and now when they see me, they'll usually turn the other way. no problems with them following me around since.

I have a mix of experiences, mainly because of the graphics on my car. Some cops will follow me, trying to come up with a reason to stop me... while others, love the car and ask if I'll take a picture of them beside it on their phone. I think that it really depends on the personality of the police officer in question.

I know that if I'm speeding, that I deserve the ticket. I'll take my ticket, thank them for what they do for our communities, and send in my payment. They're just doing their job.

I just got pulled over 2 hours ago in my neighborhood. Turns out the cop followed me from a main road, and after pulling me over told me that someone had called in and said that I was "All over the road".

Sounds like BS to me and he just wanted an excuse to pull me over. I said I really didn't think it was me that they were calling about, and he let me go.

Owned my Z for 4 years and 6 months. One ticket and I was asking for it. Technically, I never got a ticket since I went to defensive driving school

At any rate, all the cops are my buddies. I work out at the PD and we hang out at my stations a lot.

Trust this guy, as he is in the know... Cops won't bother you if you are going 112mph or faster... It's in the rulebooks.

Only pulled over once in the z and it was a joke.. It was about 1130pm and I was going to work, literally 100ft from my house get pulled over. Cop walks up, looks at me (prob seeing if I was drunk or something), told him I was going to work. Said he pulled me over bc my headlights were too blue... "But officer their hid headlights?..". Doesn't matter he had anything blue is illegal. He let me go, just a part time village cop, was prob bored.

Cops will follow you until you make a mistake or find a reason to pull you over. My dad is a retired sheriff and he told me they usually target sports cars. So its not just a coincidence...

I love the guys/gals on here who break the law and then blame the cop when they get a ticket. Ever heard of taking responsibility for your actions?

Just wanted to throw it out there, i know i wasnt supposed to go sliding around, but my cop was a giant doucher all the same. On a side note, when i bought my second z a cop was following me so i slowed to the speed limit on a single lane two way road and he passed me like i was sitting still after a while. And on another occasion i got pulled over on my way to fly out to deploy for my license plate light being out, when i told the guy where i was going he not only let me go, but escorted me to my bases gate, not that it was necessary at 2am with no traffic, but i think he fealt bad for making me late and i got to run red lights.

Also i used to live at ftlw, what do you do there? I know a bunch of guys with z's out that way. Unfortunatley not any shops or a dealer nearby though.

I'm an instructor here. It blows.

I'm not saying there aren't dick cops out there, because there are plenty. Here in Waynesville, all they do is set up speed traps where the limit drops from 40-25. And people wonder why there's such a huge meth problem around here.

I work at a PD and all the cops there like my car. They keep asking me if I can break the record around the circle. The old record is 77mph around the circle in a stock S2000. I told them I could for sure break the record but they would need to block traffic for me. I am still waiting As for me speeding, if I get pulled over I will pull out my badge if I need too but if I am going at crazy speeds and driving like an idiot I will go to jail and they will tow my Z. The badge dosnt always help you. Some cops are dicks and thats just the way they are but most are cool. If you get pulled over just be nice and tell the truth. If you are an asshat to them and lie you will get the citation that they were going to issue plus alot more that you wouldnt have gotten if you would have been nice. If someone starts yelling at me or lying to me when I am working I will look extra hard to issue you as many citations as I can.

i don't know if anyone has this issue...

when i know i'm speeding like 80 in a 60 on the freeway i'm always in the clear... its the minute that i'm not purposely speeding and i just happen to be going 5 - 10 mph over while just normal driving is when i get pulled over.

but i agree with RandyK1 - i've always been nice, polite, and honest (although i never admit fault) and they usually let me go with a warning. i got cop friends that tell me they look for *******s cuz its more gratifying to give an ******* a ticket in a nice car.

just because you comprehend my statement your way doesn't make me dumb.

It would actually be "You're dumb." - as in the contraction for "You are dumb."

"Your dumb" by itself is not a complete sentence and does not require a period, because it should be used as in "Your dumb comment about another user showed your own ignorance."

Glad that I could be of assistance.

Also, as he said, giving honest answers and volunteering all information freely are two different things.

Just adding to the fun bmurray...
