Thanks cgkp0925! I really am trying to as much research as I can befoer I jump to any conclusion. I also am just taking my time and seeing what is available.
Its kind of nice not really having to buy another one fast, so I almost feel like I have the control on the sale lol.

I've had many people gasp when I tell them that mine is an '03. It's obvious when people take care of things, no matter what it may be.

I'm not saying there are absolutely no good non HR models out there, but do you really want to take the risk?
Just go search around for 350z reliability per year model. 07+ had the least issues. Since you are getting a used car, you're taking a gamble on how the previous owner treated it on top of it being old age/high mileage. Doesn't hurt to eliminate one of the possible risk factors in getting a used car; hence why I'm recommending the 07+

But buying something used (a car, tv, etc.) is a gamble/risk...regardless.
In the end, cars are the worst investment, period. Everyone get what you want before you pass and enjoy life with it! We only live once!

ill be honest man, ive got a 06 Rev up and it rocks. I love it to death. I got it with 69k on it and i guess im lucky cuz mine doesnt consume oil. The wide power band is amazing and is just beautiful. Im probably going to get flamed for this but i think that any year of the z is great. I learned that when i became a z owner i didnt care about the maitenence of the vehicle. I know i just wanted to work on it and spend my time with it. I guess z's have the connection with their owners. On this forum people complain about their problems with the z, but deep down inside, they are happy they invested in the z. I know i wouldnt have any other car but this one. imma keep it until she runs into the ground. and maybe even after then :P But what has been said, i cant say any better, patience and you will find the z for you.

Thats how I found my Z by looking a bit further outside my area on that site and saw a great deal. It should cost about 1k to 1.5k to ship it, but even so it's still a good price with no accidents and low miles. Good luck

So I found this in the morning...

Very cheap, yes it does have the rebuilt title. However what do yall think? It would be very cheap...

????? How do I sound like im in a hurry? Im just looking and asking advice for ones I find, im not say "OK this is the one I have to get!!"
And let it go man, im not getting a HR (unless one in my price range). Thats great you are in love with yours but there are other opinions about the nonHR models
NO im not going back into the debat about HR vs non-HR.

Took this out for a test drive today
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false
I was at first kind of put off with the miles then the guy said no worries here's the receipt for the 80K mile engine we just had to install!! I was like whaaaat...
NO i did not buy it.......yet lol...Time will tell.
I took it out and it ran great and then bam went to try all the gears out and both 5th and 6th grind..
Took it right back and said here you go..engine runs and sounds great but your trans is shot. He said if I was really interested in it he would get it fixed at no extra charge!
Now normally I would be worried, but both me and the guy I was with where wearing our air force uniforms, not that make us get awesome deals immediately, but you'd have to be some kind of low life to try and scam to guys serving in the military.
So I guess we will see what happens. He said he would get back to me when its done and I would be able to take it out again and make sure it was completely fixed, but just for comfort I will be taking it to a mechanic shop BEFORE i do any buying as the world has bad people in it.
Ill post some pics later of what the cosmetic damage is, mostly front paint chips just from rocks popping up but nothing to bad.

The biggest issue mechanically with getting an older Z is the transmission. I believe 06+ got the new CD009 transmission that don't really have synchro issues (grinds). However they sometimes still do feel notchy.
Also if you can find an older Z that had a CD009 put in, you should be safe for a while.

Ok, good info. That's what he said he would replace with new ones. Still no commitment, just kinda cool I ran across this one. He is suppose to call me tomorrow. Heck he might go to fix it and see there is a lot more wrong and just cut his losses and junk/part it out or if he is lucky he can wholesale it. But time will tell

I believe non-HR/HR automatics barely have any defects, if not none at all. Just in case you think of going that route.
I know some people say a sports car isn't a sports car without a manual, but my automatic is a blast to drive with the manual mode. Also, no worries about grinding issues.
