I've been getting laughed at since i bought my Z because i refuse to get in, or let anyone else get in for that matter, without clacking there shoes off first Also anywhere i go, i do a quick lap around the car just to make sure i dont see any new rock chips. Anyone else have anything strange they do before driving or am i just weird.

 

na ur not weird...i like to do this thing where i put the key in the ignition and start the car, maybe im just weird tho

 

A while back my girlfriend and I were out for dinner. It started to rain and the waitress told us there was hail coming. I paid the bill and told my girlfriend I'd pick her up - then ran to the car in the rain.

An older couple thought I was very gallant for offering to go get the car, but my girlfriend pointed out to them that I didn't want her to get the inside of the car wet.

God love her - she get's it.

 

Weird, but probably not as weird as driving 7000+ miles without going over 3000 rpms.

 

i always have the habit to open my windows with the remote, even when its cold out

 

???Open the door---get in---key in the ignition---start---put in gear---drive.

 

Same ritual every week day for the last 7 years, 7 months, 17 days - wake up, eat breakfast, take dog out, shower, get dressed, get in Z, drive it to work. I have a similar but reversed ritual in the afternoons.

You're not alone, I do this too, ever since I found out about it. I'll even stand next to the door and wait a second for them to go down if I have to, haha.

Don't really have a before ritual. But, if I beat on it I'll usually thank it or apologize to it, depending on the severity of said spirited driving, and pat the dash.

be honest.. we all have a ritual before getting into the car, and here it is in its ugly glory:

ask yourself how many time you unlock the damn thing as youre walking up to it hahah. I swear i press it like 3 times.

Aside from that, i always stretch like this , left and right, before getting into the Z wearing my fancy sport clothes. Unles i yam wearing de stretchy pants.. ees for fun.

Check for dings when questionable, otherwise I generally let it run for my standard 15-35 seconds...nothing too amazing...now track day rituals would be a whole separate thread....lol

I usually walk about 75 meters in front of my car before I hit the unlock button. I also walk around to inspect my car for door dings and scratches. Then I do the usual open the door turn the ignition, hear the fuel pump whine, them turn the car on with door open to hear my exhaust.

I also check my fluids every 3 days.

 

When I get somewhere I hit lock probably 3-5 times before I get into a building. I'm so paranoid leaving her all by her lonesome.

 

I touch my pecker twice and then let her rip with a loud *** fart

 

I have a rug outside the drivers side door in my garage so I can wipe my shoes off right before I get in every time

 

It actually comes from something i did in my previous car. I have a dog and i ran through the yard without realizing i stepped on a land mine and hopped right in I just really hate the floor mats looking dirty now
