Sounds like snake oil to me, and maybe dangerous snake oil at that.

There must be some modders out there who have some ideas about what this thing is and what it's supposed to do.

Any ideas? Is this another dim-witted Direct Power System type rip or not?

heres my guess; it is likely a simple resistor; which make the MAF read that there is more air(he says colder; but in the cars terms; it means more dense) thus it figures more air. now Im not sure how the car would react to this; but my guess would be to give it more gas... which would make it run rich; which would not gain hp...

but if he is lieing and it actually makes it read as less air; it would give it less gas; putting your car into a dangerous(tho more powerful) lean status.

someone can check me on my details; not sure that I have it all right; but thats the general idea.

since it is most likely a resistor thats like 4cents, and maybe some way to connect it? either way; yeah its like a buck worth of materials tops. at 2.45 tho people might try it, the alternative I guess is

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2449374382

amazingly those retail for 60$ or more.

but cheap stuff like that is very appealing to the cheap crowd with cheap cars. in laymans terms, idiots.

"duhhhh, Ill take this; obviously the manufacturer skimped on a 2.45$ part that could have increased the horspower by 10%" right... I really wonder if that goes through anyone head before they purchase it.
