Default ExtremeHID company issue with HIDs

Hi guys,

So I purchased some HIDs from a company called Extreme HIDs. A few people recommended them to me, so I figured I'd buy from them. They had decent prices on the 6000K HID kit. This is the second set I'm buying, as I bought another kit for my brothers Z about 5 months ago and they worked great.

I got this new kit and they don't work. The actual lights work, but the ballast are bad(I took them into a shop to test). They were all scratched up and had no labels on them, so they appear to be fake. I thought these HID kits were made in Germany, but looks like they are made in China.

Has anybody bought from them before? I've been calling them for weeks @ (336)697-7001 but nobody picks up the phone or it rings busy. There website is: http://www.xtremehids.com/index.php?cPath=158_22_47

I was suppose to get a warranty card and all, but I didn't get one with the order. I know I'm pretty much screwed, but I thought I would share so others don't deal with the same. Just sucks to come across fake vendors like this, when all you want is an aftermarket product for your car.

*EDIT*
With the new phone numbers provided, I was able to get in contact with somebody. So in all fairness I changed the name of this thread, in hope I can get this issue resolved now. Thanks!

Thanks Bmurray350z. I greatly appreciate that.

I spoke to somebody at the shop and they told me that this is a polarity issue, that the shop that tested them reversed the plugs. Now I'm not sure if they did that or not, but I would hope a shop like that would know how to plug them in. I was told to send them back as an RMA so they can test them. So I hope they can troubleshoot the issue and see what exactly is wrong with them.

I'm also curious to know if these ballasts are made in Germany or China. I was under the impression these were made in Germany. Do you happen to know?

It will say somewhere on the case where it's made. Having said this..there are ballasts made in China with high quality Geramn parts.
See this link..

Our HID ballasts feature German hardware from Siemens and World class fitting. Each HID ballast is individually tested.

The entire kit actually just came in a plain white box with no writing on it. Interesting on the link you posted.

I spoke to this customer yesterday about his father or father in laws HID Kit that was purchased. I advised that it is impossible for both not to work right out of the box. We test them before they ship, so I highly doubt that could happen. However the possibility that the installer could have reversed the polarity at the plug to the ballast, that is more likely. He wanted to ship the entire kit back for us to inspect it. That was the last that I heard of it, yesterday...the same day this was posted? If anyone needs to reach us, we are available. This is in no way an advertisement or form of advertisement, just us posting a response to a customer having an issue(for the mods). Thanks
