Gotcha, that makes sense and seems reasonable. I feel really good about this decision now. Thanks for all your help!

Ive driven both and personally think the 350z is way more fun but thats just my opinion get what you like. thats why i have a Z haha

But honestly spend an extra grand and get the HR, thats my opinion.
HR is 07 and 08 6MT is where all the fun is at but again preference.
They have better "airflow" if you will since i got mine id wished i got an 07.
They also look nice IMO. Pre 06 has the 287 HP and 278TQ. Youll have more fun in the lower rpms but the interior materials arent as good. The headlights and tailights are the old models. I would go with at least an 06. The 06 has a rev up motor redlines at 7000 RPM. 300HP and 260 TQ. Honestly though if you can get an 07 or 08 NISMO then definitly do that. You wount really find them close to 15000.

Bottom line get
Choice 1: 07-08 NISMO
Choice 2: 07-08 HR
Choice 3: 06 w/ revup motor

GOOD LUCK man

Wow, Honda hate much? I had a tough time choosing between the S2k and the Z. Respect where it'd due, the S2K is a brilliant car, no need to bash.

This is my fourth Z and I have found Nissan to be very reliable. You take care of her and she will take care of you. The only issue I have found is I'm 6'1 and the seat doesn't go back far enough. My 240Z felt like someone 7'0 tall could have driven it. Just check the clutch and get under it and make sure you have no leaks and check the engine fans to make sure both are working. I bought my 2004 ZR black on black with 101,000 and thought all was fine until I put it in a parade and neither fan worked and the car over heated . As long as I was moving it was fine. I love the convertible so much I traded my Harley Fatboy for it and have never looked back. The car drives and sounds so good I volunteer to go to the store for the wife and I'm 37 years old, who would have thought . Just make sure to get the 6 speed and watch out for cops. LOL

Being anxious is understandable. Its a big decision. The 350Z may not be the wisest car to drive but it is fun.

Expense is relative. A performance sports car will be more expensive to run than a family sedan. Thats just common sense.
