Both Nissan’s 350Z (5.66 seconds, 14.3 seconds at 99.7 mph) and Infiniti’s G35 coupe (5.78, 14.43 at 98.1)—two cars widely considered for purchase by RX-8 buyers—posted better acceleration times. But neither offers drivers the RX-8’s razor-sharp chassis. As far as owners are concerned, the car’s driving dynamics excite as much as the powertrain does. “I’m most impres-sed by the handling, braking and exquisite balance,” says one.
