Unhappy Amazing/completely sad body shop story

Ok guys im going to vent/ask for your opinions and see where i can go with this... Its a long story which hopefuly you guys have the time to read and be amazed at what some people are capable of. Learn from me in your decision making while driving and who you think you can trust.

On November 20th I got into an accident by myself. Going around a turn at 95mph, i feel very comfortable with my suspension/wheel/tire setup to do this. Tein S techs, hotchkis sways, gt spec front, mid, rear, and 4 point chassis brace. Tires are falken azenis k series 245/40/18 up front and 315/30/18 in the rear. Anyways im going around a turn having fun and the rear starts to slide, im used to this and dont think anything of it, it slides a little more than usual and as soon as i turn the wheel probably no more than 5 inches the opposite way,the car does a complete 360, i slam into the curb, a wall, 20+ bushes, a tree, and end up back in the street facing the opposite way i was coming from. I cant remember how many 360s i did because i blacked out from spinning so fast. When i was stopped someone who saw me crash pulled up next to me and started laughing and took off. He came back did the same thing and went on his way. I didnt think the damages were that bad because i had no idea i even went on top of the curb till i looked back and saw my cf trunk was missing. I got out of the car unharmed but pretty much in shock to see that my trunk was 50 feet away from me on the sidewalk, my front bumper was ripped off, all 4 of my wheels were cracked, rear lower control arm and tie rods were bent, radiator support was cracked and twisted, front slider rail was bent, i had body damage by the gas tank from the wall which i had punched a hole through when i hit it, and thats pretty much it for the damages...

Police arrived and were surprised i was even alive and walking and we did up a police report and they went on their way. This is where it goes extremely down hill... I call up my "friend" at the time that owns a body shop so i could take my car there for the insurance purposes. Insurance gives me $9,500 for the damages and the car remained a clean title thank god. Allstate put the check under HIS name and gave it to him... HAHA... Didn't think much of it because he was a friend but whatever... Him and i both knew that the damages were not even close to what the insurance gave me and i had my spare trunk and a rear bumper which saved me money instead of buying OEM parts from nissan that would have cost alot. We agreed that i would get some money under the table and i got to go with whatever parts i wanted for the rebuild. I had him order the wheels i wanted, my cf front fenders, oem front bumper, nismo lip, megan control arm, tein tie rods, oem rad support and brackets, and i believe that was it. The car was also going from silver to a snow white color change. Ill fast forward a little bit... 2 months passes and the car is still not done, i tell him to hurry up because i wanted my car back he says ok it will be out in a week or so and i left it at that. Another month passes and the car isnt done and im starting to get pissed, more excuses to why the car wasnt done and what not, i was going to pull the car from the shop but it was without wheels and no radiator so i couldnt even take it if i wanted to...

Present day today, 4 months later from the accident. Im tired of all the countless excuses and getting allstate and all my friends involved and i decide to pull the car from the shop. He was not happy about this at all and alot of words were exchanged. Basically how the car looks now, it is worse than what happened in the accident. He gave me NO money back and did not complete the job at all.

This is whats wrong with the car starting from the front... Front bumper doesnt sit right because the bent rail slider was not fixed, nither does the rad support, hood latch isnt reachable so the hood cannot close, headlights are off, cf hood is chipped because of them and isnt recleared like he said he would do, nismo lip isnt on, grill wasnt painted black, cf air duct which he said he would order wasnt ordered, headlight bulbs do not work, cf fenders which were brand new are all scratched up, no door handles on the car, no door panels, no mirrior, no weather stripping inside, my interior is TRASHED, the trunk does not close and lock, rear wiper isnt on and niether is the plastic on the trunk, rear bumper isnt aligned at all due to horrible body work, gas cap is not on, tail lights, and signals dont work, paint job is horrible, there is only a base no clear, and the car isnt buffed. Total mess. He lost my gas cap, and other pieces to my car. The rest of my parts he would not give me and wont let me have. So as of now, 4 months later im in a worse situation because im out the $9500 and i still have about $5000 to fix the car correctly.

Here are the questions. I didnt know this but i guess the workers do not have a license to perform work on the cars there younger than me and im 20. Idk if i can do something about that? Im located in southern california if that helps anyone. He also wouldnt give me recipts for the parts purchased and for the labor performed i forget what his excuse was. Is there anything i can do to get my money back or at least some kind of money to help me out with the next shop that will be working on the car? Can i take it to small claims court?

I bought my Z when i was 18 in 2009. 2005 base model bone stock ,paid $10,000 cash myself from working at mcdonalds and just saving up. My friends and family know my car is my life and alot of people are just telling me to cut my losses and sell the car. The car also has fried rings which im getting tested tomorrow due to a 150 shot of nitrous. I was unemployed 8 days after my accident and i want to keep my car iv just been through to much to let her go over some stupid stuff.

Anyways sorry for blabbering and probably not making much sense lol but just decided to share a little story with you guys. Drive slow where ever your at and i guess you really have to learn how people are before you start having them do important stuff with your money.

^ That pretty much sums up the story for the TL;DR crowd.

Get anything in writing?

Taking a cashout from insurance is always a risky move. You get very little recourse in the event repairs arent completed to standard. Let insurance fix it the next time you drive like a douchebag in public.

Quick question...how in the hell did you save $10k from working in McDonalds and then have the bright idea to blow it on a car?

What about college? You didn't think your education was more important than a car or perhaps saving for a rainy in case you needed it for a situation such as this?

Matter of fact, are you even attending school?

WHERE IN THE HELL ARE PEOPLES PRIORITIES?

I stopped here.

First problem, you're a dumbass. If you can invest money in your car, you can afford to track it and not race on streets where there were CLEARLY other drivers.

Second, I would have pulled up and laughed at you, too. But I would have stuck around to watch your cry when the cops arrived and I told them how you were driving.

I'm assuming the rest of the post is how you had to blow mechanics because you're car poor and couldn't afford to get it fixed. In the end, your car still doesn't work and you're full of man jelly.

Buy a Huffy.

where are yours when you challenge someone savings capabilities vs where a person works? Just because you cant save 10K doesnt mean he cant. Hell, he could have a roomate, could have two...profiting on the rent.

yall assume so much shizzil on this site, yet make yourselves look silly in the process of trying to be an internet bad/smart azz

your post is not on topic, nor was any of his questions answered. Your post was also as fruitless as, your attempt to call him out on his priorities... making yourself look like you cant save money.

What the hell does school have to do with anything? I made well over 100K without a college education, yes legally. So school is just another way of tricking you clowns into spending more money. Yes I went back (Masters), but after I could afford it, on my own. lol

Where are your priorties, or let me guess, your parents paid for your school? You cant save 10K, with you cool job? Then maybe your priorties are screwed up, maybe you have a house that too big, or too many kids, or too many playstations, or drink too many beers.

back on topic

OP, I say cut your losses man. you are live to learn and rebuild. Take your time, make better choices. I got FUAWKED over by a shop too... 25K in work and my car still looks like shizt!

OP wants to VENT?? youve got to be kiding me right...

well, lest level the field here as i agree w all of you, but lets call it waht it is..its not a question of avings priorities, internet tough guys, dumb kids, mcDonalds, or insurance issues..

im old enough to know that poor decisions with no intent thought for consenquences usually ends up bad.. the world is karmic and very strange that way.
I say the OP needs to realize the folly of his ways and how the world opened up to teach him a huge lesson in seeming unrealted events.
The older you get the more you see it happen. If im being careless becuase im super inflated stoked over something and i start doing stupid things becuase of it.. the world has ways to bring you right back down to reality quickly.

Our posts telling him hes an idiot fall on deaf ears.. as we were all idiots when we were younger. I used to think i was great in bed too.. haha.. at 17? Riiight.. im sure i was amazing.. haha.

Just saying, live and learn, but you had better realize that someone esle can learn your mistakes for you tragically if you decide you want to "lesson learn" at 95mph on public roads....

.. how badly would your @ss be puckered at that crash scene OP if when you looked behind you it wasnt your cf trunk you saw but a lady coming out of a banged up volvo you hit... screaming.. bloody.. and holding a dead child.

Stop worrying about your car, the repair quality, and your 9500 bucks and stop writing about this online in a nonchalant fashion.. it could have been very bad dude, and this grown adult male is telling you that you should be embarassed and very humbled my man. .

To answer the OP's question... you can take it to court, but even if they make him pay, there is no debters prison.
