Top Gear Review?
First off let me say I am not here to flame or start mess. I love sports cars period.
My current baby is an ’95 M3. My question for you guys is this: I was watching some Top Gear episodes and just finished the one reviewing the 350Z. I am wondering why Tif had absolutely nothing good to say about it? I say this because I also watched the one where he covered the EVO VII and Subaru STi and he seem to like those? I was under the impression the 350z was a more powerful car than those? I have not seen one on the track yet, maybe because I just attend BMW track days, but from what I read it seems to be a pretty good track performer. Is this true? How does it compare to other models on the track, not street drag race stuff. Thanks in advance.

On their test track, the 350z pulls the exact same time as the RX8 -> which incidentally are both faster than an '03 M3 with the same track/driver.
To be honest, I don't know why Top Gear folks don't like the Z... I have a feeling that the host is a little racist and just plain biased. Notice how he pokes fun of the "french" bit - our engines - which shows how misinformed he is since the VQ engines are neither produced nor designed in France. But simply saying that the weakest link is French and emphasizing that in his review is racist... the country should have no effect on his opinion of the car. But I'm not from Europe and I don't know how far the bantering goes between UK folks and the French (could be common-place... like how Canadians poke fun at Americans and vice versa
).

You got it backwards here buddy... Americans make fun of Canadians, they just try and come back... C-mon lots be realistic here... The only good thing that came from CANADA is BACON.
Opps your from CANADA TO HUH?His review did seem a bit odd and seemed like it was purposely done to hurt Nissan or just because of racism...
humm, i thought tiff was the GP driver before who drive the maclaren, not this fat dude who complains about everything...
btw, this fat guy also complained about the skyline too.

I haven't seen this episode, so I don't know who was actually driving. However, I'm a huge Top Gear fan. Tiff is a more fit guy with a normal haircut who smiles a lot and seems quite cheerful. The more heavy-set, tall guy with often curly hair is Jeremy Clarkson, and he can always find something to gripe out. (Although his gripes are often very funny!)

From the comments up above about the driver making predjudiced comments, I'm inclined to say it was Jeremy. He often makes comments like that, and he tends to prefer British and Italian cars. On that note, I do have a video of Tiff driving a pre-release version of the Z here in the US on some canyon back roads, and he was *loving* it. He did complain about the low quality of the interior (particularly the funky nav door and such), but he said the car drove beautifully and generally he loved it. Typical big grin on his face.

Back on topic... I made a mistake in the original post: the 350z, rx8 and M3 actually scored the SAME times on their test track w/ the same driver. Sorry about that M3 fans --- (///M Owner)
Oh and here is the vid (check the last 5 minutes for track times):
