I would really appreciate more help on this topic.
Guys, Most of you own a 350z on this board. Just post what you paid for it and know what type you got.
I went to my nissan dealership and they were asking 36k for the touring model. 2K msrp markup yet on the touring roadster they only ask 36k
I have heard some people say they got their 04 coupes for as low as 25k ( base of course)
The guys at my nissan are telling me the lowest ill be able to get one for is 29k. Does this sound like a ripoff or what.

Thanks

I'm not sure that just posting what people paid and which trim level they got would be much help to you. There are too many other variables, such as, did they order their Z or buy one off of the lot? Where do they live? What time of the year/month did they order/buy? Did they compare prices from other dealers? Did they travel some distance to get a Z at a lower price? Etc., etc.

Just go to the nissanusa.com website and check out dealers within the radius that you are willing to travel to get your Z. E-mail them or call them with the trim, transmission, and color that you want and ask them to furnish their best price out the door. This will give you the info that you want.

Thanks for the positive replies. I went to the link and what i found was the msrp for where i live on a base is 26.800
The price for a 350z touring coupe was 33.800
So they are marking the touring coupe up by some $2,220
I also found a great site that listed the invoices of these cars to the dealers.
That site confirmed the msrp should be in the 26k range for a base.
This site claims a dealer would pay 24.600 for a
base model but that they also get a holdback fee.
Im thinking my dealer is just a bump high.
Anyways Wayne I live in Tn Also, The eastern side near knoxville.
Where you from?

33,800 sounds like the base msrp for a touring (no options). the 2200 could be due to optional equipment?

No, They straight out told me that the additional money was nothing more than dealer markup due to demand for the car.
The claim a 2k markup witch to me is crazy. I am not paying over msrp for one of these cars. It just aint happening.
Im just looking for a base coupe anyways but it really bothered me that dealers are marking up cars like this for no reason. The odd thing is that they didnt mark up the two roadsters they had at all, you would think thats the ones that would see markup from dealer
There should be a law against it really.
Anyways I am going to go out of town to get my Z. I am not dealing with those assclowns unless its a 100 percent have to case.

The tourings they had just for your info zeroday looked to be fully decked out with options for the 33k msrp. they had brembos, bigger wheels and tires and even nav system so im not sure what other options you would be talking about.

if a dealer wants to have mark-up then don't buy from them. I can't believe that some dealership still think they can sell the car with mark-up price. I won't even buy from them if they want to sell me at MSRP.

There is no way you should still be paying any kind of mark up on a 350Z, especially on the touring model, and especially if it has AT.

I got my Enthusiast model for under MSRP back in January 2003. There will be other dealers out there willing to work with you, find one and work with them.

You are right, the markup is crazy. It's not like the Z is brand new anymore.

I got my 04 Enthusiast 5AT for $500 above invoice (w/the options it had): $28,496 incl. destination charge before TTL back at end of Aug 03. It came w/splash guards, kick plates, floor mats and trunk mat.

Thanks for all the good advice. I went to two more nissan dealerships today and im sad to say that It doesnt look like ill be getting a Z car soon.
Both of them wanted at least 1k markup above msrp. Then they tried to tell me Msrp was 28k for a base model. No Options.
Reading direct from nissanusa.com i can see that the base is 26.900
They didnt have anything but performance and touring editions.
The performance was 31k but again with markups and dealer addons was over 33k
The salesman straight told me that he wouldnt pay a penny over msrp. Then i ask him why he is trying to sale me one with that markup and he said it was his boss that marked the car up and that he couldnt do anything about it.
He said he wouldnt sale one for a penny under msrp even if he could. So i walked. I told him thanks for being honest because i feel like he was but this is about re damn diculous
It doesnt appear I can win for loosing on trying to buy local.
I dont have any other nissan dealerships that doesnt require traveling 3 to 4 hours.
Thanks again for the good advice and help its appreciated.
