Why would someone put a blacklight on the passenger floorboard?

Infiniti offers "accent" lighting under the dash. My wife just had to have it so we had it installed when we bought the car. It looks much like your photos although its not a black light (blueish light). I tell my wife the only good it does is to show how dirty your shoes are. Anyway it looks like that was the same thing they were going for in your Z.

I imagine that it was installed by the original owner as a James Bond way to check his girlfriend's legs and clothes for stains clandestinely. I imagine he would lean over to kiss her, or distract her… then hit the switch while she was distracted to do a quick "safety check" before taking it to the next level.

Similar story. I bought a car and there was a remote in the console....started playing with it not knowing what it was...while I was driving btw... Didn't know what it was till I came out at night and saw a pink glow in my driveway coming from the car. Previous owner told me nothing about neon kit... I then cut my finger tearing viciously at them to get them off in a hurry......
