4 month ago- clean title 2006 base 88k miles- repainted, cut and buffed- no accident history- car was keyed. 1000$ touch screen navi, 4 new speakers, alpine amp, and sub with custom box.
11,500 at the dealership. Ive since put in a better exedy clutch, and a Nismo pro gt LSD. so im about 1500 more into it. also have over 101k miles now. stupid commute and two long road trips... I was considering re-selling it as in my area cars this clean and new are usually 16k or so.

2008 Silver 350Z - 26,000 Miles - 6MT - Immaculate - All service records - 17.5k.

Pluses - Came with AVH-PV4100HD - http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...s/AVH-P4100DVD

Minuses - Suspension tweaked - had low speed tire noise. Some money later, new set of tires and work, and she drives like new again.

Default Opinions wanted...

Considering purchase of 2006 Base trim, completely stock Z w 66,000 mi. from private owner in Illinois. This would be my first Z. Haven't seen the car yet, but owner says the car is clean, has been dealer maintained (w documentation), has had no mechanical issues, and is garaged during winter. He has a carfax report. I'll see the car next week and will have a dealership mechanic friend of mine along. Assuming everything checks out, does his asking price of $12,500 sound reasonable? Also, are their any red flag issues (besides oil consumption) i should be aware of with that model year?
Thanks much!

I would not buy a 2006 due to the oil issue. That is the only main deterrent

Appreciate the response. If there was an oil problem, wouldnt that show up in maintenance records? Is oil consumption a problem that shows up immediately or is it mileage dependent (beyond normal engine usage)?

I've read a lot of these and that was a good buy.

Yep, the rev up had too many issues with oil consumption, but that motor was in the 05 anniversary as well. So there's that. The plenum issue was also handled by '07 so no need for the 5/16" plenum spacer ('cept the hood was fugly).

Opinions? Kind of concerned about the front bumper fitment and the low price. Makes me believe there was some serious front end damage. Too good to be true or underlying issues? Thoughts?http://cnj.craigslist.org/cto/4277884542.html

Also, I already talked to him about the wheels.

^^^ Notice how it says "Clean car" and not "Clean title"... Ask him for a CARFAX, $13.5 is very low for an 08 Z with 54k.

Also it's lowered on cheap BC coils so there's a good chance his front bumper was damaged/ripped off at some point... which required it to be painted which is when he deleted the front emblem/holes/indent that should be there (if it isn't an aftermarket bumper, looks OEM with a lip)

I talked to him the other night and he says it is a clean title. Still getting a carfax though. It is an OEM front bumper with N1 Front lip and sides he said. I'm still very skeptical over it and it will receive my full attention as well as my friend's who is a Nissan mechanic at a local dealer. I've been looking for awhile and this caught my eye because it is an HR for so cheap...just seems a little too good to be true

i agree with others, something is not right... bet it is a salvage title or something, old wheels, cheap coils, and notice how much gap there is between bumper and hood.

It has been hit but had a clean title. I still ran away from it though. When things seem too good to be true, they usually are.
