Should I buy this 350z?
Hey guys! I'm 19 years old and have never bought a car so I need some good advice. There's a blue 2003 350z at the dealership where I live and I really want it. It has 82000 miles which is super good for being a 9 year old car. Has sweet rims and tires, navigation, pioneer touch screen DVD. It needs an alignment and the trunk shocks are out. They priced me at 12800 not including tax dealer fees etc. I make around 900 dollars a month so I was wondering if I would be able to afford this? I can also put
Down 1000 dollars that ive been saving, and I have no other expenses except I would like to be able to at least save 250$ a month. So 350z owners please give me some of your wisdom! Thanks

I also forgot to add that it has a A&E cai system. And since I would need financing I would need full coverage insurance.. Any advice on that. Oh yeah my dad would be cosigning for me.

I think you should probably find something else. You forget that insurance and maintenance will eat at your income and push you into the negatives.
Plus, that's a lot of money for that kind of mileage.

If you have to ask if you can afford a car, chances are you haven't done enough basic research to have the proper background and foundation to start from.
BTW - There are a hundred websites that will do a note/payment calculation for you. There are hundreds that will give you insurance quotes. Since none of us knows your particular social and financial details, it's impossible for anybody to give you even the roughests of estimates.

There is a 2003 here by me for sale with 83,200 miles on it an he only wants 10,900 and that is Canadian it's a touring model that is too much money for that car they are not cheap to maintain just think about brakes tires oil changes then the little stuff you want to buy for it. Plus gas. I'm nit sure about your insurance but your monthly expense for that car will be high

You make $900 per month....BWAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH..... stop looking at a sports car. Stick with an altima or civic. You car payments will be around $300-$350 depending on interest rate. Slap another $300 for insurance and then at least $200 in gas. BOOOOOM BOY you broke..... oh hey what about tires, belts, compression rod, air filter, oil change, tranny fluid, diff fluid, brake pads, window motors ......

Oh wow I didn't see that you make 900ish a month. Sorry buddy but that car is out of the question. If you lived at home. And spent not a dime on anything and I mean anything no booze or nothing then maybe. But then what happens if you start needing a balljoint or tie rod ends.

He never stated anything about living elsewhere and also said that he has NO other expenses meaning he isn't paying for any housing.
I agree with everyone else for the most part. Unless you're willing to become a slave to your Z payments, you might want to look elsewhere for the time being.

Although I do agree with you, I must make the point that I'm pretty sure he does live at home.

Let me be honest. We have all been in your situation.
Want that first car SO bad that we would do ANYTHING to make it happen.
You'll do the same thing.
Only problem, they are asking too much for a 03(maybe a Touring?)with the miles&condition. Its not a good deal. But,its a dealer(stealer)ship that has the car for sale.
Can't sleep very good right?Thinking about that Z?
Are Z's in short supply in your area?If not,go to work on the price.
Good luck!

In short; I'd say save up some more and then consider a Z. First, Arizona sales tax is 6.6%. Assume ($200ish?) dealer fees, all together you'd be paying around $14,000. Add the alignment you need, monthly insurance, and any maintenance work required you'd be looking at quite a lot.
So paying roughly $350 a month for your car, $350ish a month for insurance, basic maintenance work, and gas, you'd be well over your current income, and you wouldn't be able to save anything each month. Imo, find something cheaper, and once you're done saving up, indulge! It'll be better than living on the edge of payments, I know if I were in your position I would want peace of mind of being able to make payments on time.
Good luck with whatever direction you choose to go
