Unlike Jeff, I don't have to be a class act. I think black-balling Performance Nissan by the SE-R club and Mossy Nissan is ********. I'm posting this because 350z owners that attend this "event should know what's happening here. This is not just a track day, it is also an exclusive marketing effort.

"HFM"... You're entitled to your opinion, & correct you don't know all the info, so let me set the record straight for you. Greg at Mossy of Oceanside is 1 of the biggest sponsors in the SE-R community (NASA racing's SE-R Cup too), & aside from being a very active lifetime SERCA member, they've sponsored our club National convention the last couple of years.
I called Jason at Performance in Duarte (which btw, is *much* closer to me than Mossy but never did much for this Nissan parts customer on past experiences) after Mossy expressed "concern" & explained it to him directly. He seemed OK & said that Jeff & him had already decided to pull out of it since they saw it was being sponsored by Mossy. I told him I would be open to suggestions on having their own track day & that this was a common courtesy/good biz ethics issue, & bottom line exclusive marketing, yes. If a company puts forth some time & $$ to get top billing, you think it's just cool for another company to show them up? That would be pretty class-LESS, right?

Flame war, pissing match. Happens often in forums. Usually, it is two idiots with low moron intelligence that enjoy the effort. Me, when I find something unacceptable, I let the idiot with low moron intelligence that thinks I'm the another idiot with low moron intelligence bask in my departure. Did it earlier last month but I happened to find your thread. Consider this response a special appearance.

Carlos G. I know what happened. So, do you. Fact of the matter is, Mossy, SoCall-SERCA and you took lessons from McCarthy.
Oh, and if you change your mind and want to enjoy a nice flamefest, be my guest. I would just love to batter you in a flame war just to make my departure official with some strikes.

I hope those of you considering if you want to track your Z or not understand that the March 5th track day is for Z owners to just enjoy driving their cars in a safe enviornment where you can push it to limits without concerns of getting a speeding ticket or hurting yourself, your car, or other people.
You do not need special suspension, tires, or more hp. the 350Z is more than ready to be tracked.

But it was just a total blast. Safe and sane. The best part was hunting down and passing a vette Z06, which I wrote about in the G35 coupe board. Great learning experience, and I hope you have a great turnout.
Zland, I just have to find another event where we can get together and you can check out the car. Good luck.

I apologize lads, but I have a conflict with another event and will not be able to make it out to the March 5th track day after all. However, let me endorse the concept enthusiastically, having had my first experience this past weekend up at Laguna Seca. A very nice venue, good sponsorship and a nice crowd of people. Many of the cars that day were from a Honda S2000 club, but there was a G35 sedan, a couple of vettes, subies, a cobra, one Ferrari and a couple of Porsches (Carrera and a Boxter)...oh yes, and one turbo mini cooper.

As you may know, Greg Vogel has left Mossy Nissan (for the Nissan dealer in Temecula, I believe). Not that it really matters. As long as he shows up and tells us the whole story. LOL.
I got a Tilton clutch and flywheel, and a new 6MT on warranty. Watch out. LOL

Well, Kiddies, IMHO
Please, Splain to me - This seems kinda silly to me that an event is "Welcome one, Welcome all"
Sponsored by one sponsor or another, and that sponsor puts the kaibash on attendance by "one and all"
I wish those playing a fun time, but next time, Please designate your event better "welcome all who we feel should come if possible on a nice day maybe." "But please dont work for anyone in the damn car industry but Jimbo Gump's dealership or whoever.
Seems kinda Chicken Poop to me.
Have a track day bring one bring all!!!!
If Joe Bygolly Freakin Shmoe From Nissan Sheboygan , Eastern Wisconsin wants to pony up his entry fee and come play, What's the harm. Either your part of the overall community or not. If You're that afraid of having the active people attend events, please state so before you put it on and advertise it as all-inclusive.
I'll be there. Scoping the facility, Just Cause We Gotta Do A Silly Event There on both tracks in June.
Oh, And By The Way,
Y'all are welcome. Period END.
Pony up the Buxx and come score your trophy or die tryin.
Oh, and doesn't one major person now working for a "GASP" Competeing err Automotive company from the "Sponsor of previous employment puttin on this particular event" really put it all in a fresh perspective?
Sorry all, It Just Bothers me with that sweet little double standard. Hooray for me and poop on you. Play with the big dogs, or just go away.
Cheers!!!
Charlie
