Question Model year question...

Hey guys,

I'm in the market for some kind of aftermarket exhaust for my 06 Z, and as I'm watching some videos on YouTube of some exhaust systems, and I've been noticing some people saying that their cars are "2004.5 & 2005.5" ect. I know there is a 2003-2006 DE and 2007-2008 HR, but wtf is with these .5's.... Anyone else seen this??

Thanks for your input

A 2004.5 would have been made after 1-1-2004, the first round of upgrades to the car after its introduction. I never heard of a 2005.5.

Never heard of 2005.5 but I presume it refers to the rev-up engine they put in the 35th anniversary and track models for '05. 2004.5 came out and addressed a few comfort as well as mechanical things. 2006 was the first official (and last) year of the rev-up engine (lots of issues).

They just had a lot of oil consumption issues with the rev-up. Not every engine was effected but it was pretty wide-spread.

From what I understand, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the DE has 287,rev has 300 and the HR has 306.

At the flywheel that is.

There is no such thing as an Official 2004.5 or 2005.5 model Z, they are known within the community as such but it was never officially branded by Nissan as such.
