Default Hot Shot dealer..

So I went to a local dealer yesterday to see the Z with my friend. I did not want to mention that I already have one on order with another dealer cause they wont even allow you to view it with your eyes. (thats another dealer story.)

Anyway, we walk in and look around for a Z, and a hotshot salesman, about 25yrs old yells from across the room, "Yo can I help you wit somtun"

We go "yea, we want to see the new 350z". So he go's "Oh we got one out back, just sold it". So I ask him we just want to see it, what it look slike. So he takes us out back, and stops us about 150 feet from the car, and he says, thats as close as you can get, its already sold. talk about a *****.
So my friend asks, how much? He says, He says "ALLLOT of MONEY" and looks at us as if we are impressed. So he again ask, well, how much, and he says, "you dont want to know, look here, why dont you take a look at the Sentra -R, thats a nice one youll like it too"

At that point we were almost ready to vomit, we said "no thanks, later".

The experience is just nauseating. I think im going to pass by once I pick mine up. Ill stop and say, hey, look at this car I just picked up for "ALLLOT of MONEY". Then leave a nice long tire skid on their lot.

A most righteous idea. Definitely get the car and smoke the tires on their front lawn.

Reminds me of a time I was considering (for about .002 seconds) to buy an A4 from Paul Miller Motors in Parsippany, NJ. The jerk-off sales puke grudgingly came up to me after I had been nosing around a car for about ten minutes in my shorts and NJ Devils t shirt. "Can I help you?" After a few minutes of stop-and-chat, he says, "I must remind you that this is NOT an inexpensive car."

I felt like throttling the guy on sight, but kindly reminded him that I can buy and sell pukes like him. Gratefully, I decided against an A4. And to anyone who MIGHT buy one, don't even THINK about going to Paul Miller. Sales sucks. Service sucks. They prey on housewives from Short Hills with their husband's checkbooks...

I ordered out of state, but told the local dealer that and they still spent about 30 minutes with me and my wife showing the car. They did want 6k over sticker, but were very nice about it knowing there was no way I would buy from them.

I hate salesman (and sales women). I go to look at a Z06 at this corvette super dealer (they have like 40 vettes six of them Z06's). I am for real, I even bring my checkbook in case they make me an offer I can't refuse.

I go "I am thinking about buying the Z06, but I need to drive it first to make sure I like it".

She goes "Oh no we only let people drive them after we have all the financial details worked out, because it's so exclusive"

I go "well how do I know if I want to buy it if I haven't driven it?" (blank stare from the woman as if she doesn't know what I'm talking about)

So I go "well then let me drive one of the regular vettes (they have like 40 on the lot), so I can see if I like that"

she goes "why don't you go over to the used section maybe they will let you drive a used vette".

I'm like "why don't you drop dead?" I didn't say that, but needless to say I was not impressed with the service.

Actually when I went to the ford dealer to test drive a rustang cobra they said the same thing. You can't drive it untill all the paper work is done, what the hll is that supposed to mean. So basically you can drive it after you've bought it.

NO, REALLY???

I went shopping for a WRX and the dealer said the same thing. "Uhh, you mean if I already own it, I can test drive it? Gee, thanks "

All great stories but guess what boys and girls...we all ordered our Z's without driving them

Hell, most of us never even got to sit in one...and with the lack of dealer knowledge about the car when we went to pre order them..My God, how did any of us write these scum bags a check

Default AudioPat, you are so right!!!

The first time I drove mine yesterday, was after all the paperwork was done, pulling it out of the lot!

Pre-ordering is not exactly buying a car. You have first rights to purchase, but you also can back out. I test drove my Z before I bought it. I could have walked out right after that with my preorder check returned.... I emphasize the COULD HAVE... I of course kept it

Not only that, but we've all been pissing and moaning about how mad we'd be if someone test drove our car before we picked it up!!!!!

But, truly, a dealership ought to have one representative sample of every car they sell that can be test-driven. Would you buy a pair of shoes without trying them on?

I had a similar experience with salesmen. I went to the honda dealership to look at a S2000. The dealer said I had to fill out all the papers (buy it) before I looked at it. I told him he could kiss my ***. This was after I went to a Nissan dealership and was actually allowed to sit in a 350z. I then went to go look at a Viper, dude told me I had to put down $500 to see it. Jackasses, I don't know how I'm going to be able to deal with these people when I actually buy my car.

Pat, I'm not so sure you should be allowed to do ANYTHING unsupervised!

I guess I had a good dealer since they offered me a test drive before I started the financials. Maybe they knew I would flame them on my350z.com if they didn't.
