You need to polish/wax after clay as it removes everything including previous wax or sealants. I have had good luck with using Mothers products over the years but I will be making the switch to Griots or Poor Boys products. The head lights are new because I hit a deer last summer on my way home late one night. I keep them looking new by waxing them about once a month. Helps to protect the surface from UV rays that haze the lights over time.
I suggest autopia.org for any detailing tips and autogeek.net for supplies.

In my area where everyone owns bows and guns and can shoot anyone on their property considered a threat, I always bring up my acronym... WAMFW! (Wish a Mother F***** Would) Sorry to hear that and I hope you can find who did it.

It's not being faded, the entire car is being repainted as I stated on page 2. Insurance guy said there's no way they would pay for the labor costs it would take to try and sand, buff and try to paint match each panel. It's easier to just repaint the whole car.
The Z has to be in the shop Oct 26th... I guess it's a good thing this shop is so covered up.

I wasn't sure where you were located, your location says VA, and there is a car just like yours that runs around by my house.
There is a few good shops close to downtown, thats why i was wondering who you went with.
Also have you ever tired "Wizard Products"? if not you should look into them.

I just looked at what you mentioned but I don't think anything would help. The clear coat has been scratched away and in some places there is bare metal. I don't think any polish can replace the paint and clear in those areas.
Although I see some pretty neat products on that site I'd love to try! Thanks!
I guess this thread won't go much of anywhere until she goes into the shop and I go for random visits to check in on her and take pic's.

That totally sucks, dude. People in general just plain suck. You don't mess with someone's ride. You just don't. I hope Karma kicks whoever did that right in the testicular sweet spot. I also hope the shop you take it to does a good job. Don't settle for anything half-assed. Look for runs, orange peel, etc. Feel the paint to make sure it's been color sanded properly and make sure there isn't any overspray on the trim (especially in the wheel well.) Let the shop know what your level of expectations are before they start working on it. It's good to make it clear that you're not going to "settle" for mediocre work. Be nice about it, but let them know that you're going to inspect everything before you accept the car and sign off on the work.

I plan on making a list of things to go over with them before they paint it. What they are taking off (bumpers, trim, lights etc...), how they are going to do it, my expectations and how I plan to inspect it once I look at it. I don't want them thinking just because it's an insurance job they can just cheap out. I'm going to have the car spotlessly cleaned up when I drop it off and tell them that this car was perfect before the vandalism because I am very meticulous, I take exceptional care of it and I expect nothing but the same after it's fixed.
Also I have noticed since the events of my car vandalized and truck being broken into there have been more police patrolling here. I really hope they catch these guys or at least scare them off from doing this to someone else.

Ordered the Griots Garage Swirl Remover Kit kit to help take care of the new paint. Always wanted the Griots stuff and I figure now's the best time...

Let's hope so... I've only heard about the body shop I'm going to and only seen one hood on a Mustang years ago they did. The paint matched and there wasn't a buffer swirl in sight.
I got the Griots buffer and supplies to take care of any buffer swirls/holograms they may introduce buffing the finish out. Also I hate polishing by hand...
I need a two car garage or a Pit Bull...
