Z was keyed...
So I woke up yesterday to find out that my 96 hardbody truck was broken into and the radio was stolen along with my Z being keyed all the way around, hood, roof, hatch and a little bit of the back bumper. Some places are down to the metal and the cop that did the report on it says the entire car is going to have to be painted and he estimates the damage at around $4000. He also told me that my area has had an increase in theft due to mine layoffs and people stealing stuff to sell for pills and booze.
It really pisses me off to think I am going through a layoff myself and now I'm having to go through the hassle of finding a shop to repair my car. I have to meet with my insurance tomorrow and I hope things go well. Why can't people just mind their own and leave sh*t alone? Thankfully they didn't snoop around long enough to find out the garage was unlocked because there's a 2003 Pathfinder inside along with other valuable items they could have just carried away.
UPDATE:
Here are the pics of the damage. Will update as the car gets repaired...
As I look at these pic's it's disgusting to know my paint was flawless.

I haven't taken any pics but I will tomorrow with insurance for my reference. I just don't know of what body shop to take it to in the area nor the process they will use to fix it. I do know I will be looking into some security cameras here soon but the cop and I agree they probably wont be back.

If you have that Comprehensive coverage on your insurance, it should be included.
And they'll ask for a Police report, which you already have.
So yes, you should be good and insurance should fix it....
If you declined the comprehensive coverage.....

Wow that is disgusting that some sick person would do that to a Z. It reminds me when I had my E36 M3. I left the car locked and sunroof vented then went to eat dinner at a restaurant; when I returned to my car I found out that someone had poured a full cup of soda w/ice from the hood, all over my roof were my sunroof was vented and my trunk. Granted it was just soda but it got all over my headliner and interior of my bimmer. I guess some people just envy other people's cars then lash out.
If I ever caught a person keying my Z I would abduct them and torture them middle-eastern style.

Sorry to hear. People have no respect for others' property anymore.
Hopefully your insurance takes care of you and you can get her fixed up.

Dang I hate seeing these kinds of threads. Just go through insurance and hope for the best OP.
And I also agree that people shouldn't be vandalizing other peoples' property.
