Default 1st gear 'pulsation'

Hello all,

I am a proud owner of a new 350Z Enthusiast 6-sp and have a question I hope you can answer. I have noticed a slight pulsation during initial acceleration. I can’t really tell if it’s just the exhaust…the whole car doesn’t shake and I know it’s not the engine. It’s kind of hard to explain…does anybody know what I’m talking about? It only happens in first gear as I begin to accelerate while letting the clutch out. Should I be hearing/feeling this? Once again it’s very slight….

Thanks

Is it a sound pulsation or a physical pulsation/jump-drop in RPMs? If it is the RPM matter then you could be letting the clutch out at too low of an RPM.

I've got the same thing happening... I have the roadster so it's a little more noticable.

it is more of a sound..I don’t feel anything in the shift **** or steering wheel. What should I be experiencing in 1st gear with this car?

Thanks,

Sorry for my vagueness…the sticker on my car said that Nissan had replaced the transmission with a new one prior to delivery to the dealer. Had me a little concerned…could be that I’m over sensitive. I’m going to go drive a new one at the dealership and compare.

thanks, hupperware

Do you only notice it in 1st? May be something with the torque converter?

What have you driven before that you can accredit to your personal experience?

6sp's do not have torque converters.

Welcome to the board btw, I picked up my Z @ McGavock Nissan there in Lubbock. Did you happen to pick yours up there as well?

Sorry…I’m not very knowledgeable when it comes to transmissions…that’s pretty obvious, huh? Yes, I purchased my 2004 350Z on 12/31/03 from McGavock…they gave me a good deal….right off the truck with 12 miles.
