I did both at the same time, but if i was forced to choose: coils.
Ya I got that when i first got my car But there is no way I can spend a grand on coils and have them sit in my room till i get rims. This way I can install the coils and make sure everything works perfect and then when I put on the rims everything will work how it should.

I made the noob mistake of adjusting the coils on the G35 wheels that i had on it, and then had to readjust when i put the RPF1s on that afternoon due to wheel dimesion and tire size differences. Not saying this will happen to you, but just bear in mind, they may need adjustment when you get wheels on it. I am also by no means saying wheels first lol.
Aftermarket wheels look good with stock suspension until you actually lower it and realize how $hitty it really looked at stock height.
Not always true. I got my wheels from a buddy and instantly knew my car looked like a tonka truck. LOL... very next day I thru on my coilovers because I was sick of looking at it

Admittedly I'm guilty of thinking my Z with fairly aggressive (+15 all around) 19s looked good on stock suspension. Lowered it shortly after, now I cringe when I look at old pictures pre coilover install.
If I was in OPs shoes I'd install coilovers with a subtle to moderate drop then buy the wheels and lower it more if desired.
I have my shorty antenna which is from a S2000 and it was $18 from honda location. And my coilovers were purchased 3 weeks prior to getting my rims and they sat on my shelf in garage. LOL
I am glad I waited made one big change instead of a bunch of small ones.
Oooh I never even thought about this. Install the coils but don't slam it .... this is the way to go. Then get wheels when you can.
But whenever I see this question posted I just imagine the person will get coils and slam their car on stock rims with -10 negative camber and think it looks good lol
