Yes,VERY random.
You must have time on your hands.
Is this a follow up question of a post awhile back,
"whats the first thing you do when you get in your car"?

Why would you need to know the outside temp to adjust the inside temp?

Summer- speedo
Winter- temp is default on KOER, then once I get going switch n look at tires, then speedo
I use the tach constantly, rarely look at analog speedo (useless) imo.

I used to leave it on speed, now it's getting replaced by oil or water temp.

speedo for sure, is there a way to set it so you don't have to change it every time?

I always leave it on the speedo since I don't like the position of the speedo on the dash

I find it actually helps to keep me within the posted speed limit since it's an exact number

Always leave mine on Speedo, as my analog speedo reads fast by like 6 mph...

Speedo for me, I'm also hooked on the Digital Speedo because the Analog Speedo is a little hard to read.

I wanna break myself of this habit ASAP, 370's have a clock in that position now (wtf Nissan?!)

Well, it's because the heat/cold system seems to work "harder" the bigger the temp differential between the current and desired (internal) temp.

If I haven't used the car for a while I can assume (or at least use as guidance) the inside temperature is the same as the outside temp.

Which means I can just put the temperature control dial to a suitable value instead of waiting a minute or two and realising if it's substantially different to my desired temp.

In practice that means if it's particularly cold I can see how cold and turn it up to a higher than normal temperature so it gets to my desired temp quicker. Otherwise I have to fiddle about with it a minute later (while driving, probably)

Oh, also it helps me learn Fahrenheit as I'm not from the US!
